Big 4 People: Particularly Deloitte

Did any of you have to do a case study as part of the interview process. If so, what was the difficulty of said study and what topic did it pertain to.

Advice is appreciated.

Is this an interview for an entry level audit position or higher up?

I think I might have read a question on a similar topic from you that led me to believe you are an experienced hire. If so, it's going to be really hard to get a definitive answer as partners/offices have a lot of latitude on their hiring processes.

I don't know about DT, but I have heard of cases being used before for EY ERM actually, so I wouldn't be overly surprised if you did, coming in from the advisory aside.

eta: look around on goingconcern.com. lot of b4 info on there, although it looks like it changed since I last looked at it a couple years ago.

Audit or consulting? Audit I doubt it. Consulting I would imagine there is something you might have to do depending on your experience.

It's in consulting on the project mgmt side. I have experience at a brokerage but not with consulting.

Interview is friday and I was just informed there will be a case study where there is no "right or wrong" answer but they want a thorough view of the thought process behind the answer.

I could see this being a cake walk but I could also see this being incredibly intense and I don't want to be caught off guard.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out when I get home and see whats there.

You will not find much on GC concerning consulting. Check out wallstreetoasis.com Also Deloitte has case studies on their website.

Pick up a copy of Case In Point. It is on Amazon for $22.
Also, b-school casebooks are a good resource for practice cases.

Try this - LINK

I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you come off as over-prepared it will show. You want to be able to demonstrate quick thinking and composure in your response.

Yeah this is kind of what I was thinking. If it were audit or were for a management position I would try and be more prepared but it never hurts to to do a little preperation.

It will be an open ended case study. Make sure to be clear about your logical progression from one point to the next.

PMO work is something anyone in the consulting world has to be able to do well.
