A guy I work with is trying to sell his super black eagle. It's used but in great shape. What's the OB's opinion on a fair price? TIA

Tree Fiddy then...seriously.

Depends on how 'used' it is. The benelli's hold up pretty well with the inertia system. My buddy has a 1 that he doesn't take care of at all and it still works great. I would think somewhere between ~$750-850 depending on use would be fair.

I'd probably be willing to pay a little more than that if it's in really good shape. Somewhere around $1k IMO.
I like autos more after they've been shot a little bit.

Agreed. If you can get your hands on one for under a grand, you are getting a good deal. I have had one for years and it is still my favorite gun to hunt with.

depends on how "used" it is. mine is HEAVLY used but is taken care of - no rust, everything is clean and oiled including the choke tubes and their threads. i do have a few dings on the barrel from hunting in metal pit blinds but that doesn't effect performance. does he have all 5 chokes it came with including their plastic containers? does he have the choke wrench for it?
not bragging, but mine is a 1998 model (H&K imported) and i have all the above.
ps: i wouldn't trade it for anything, it's been perfect.

Here... still works great.
The SBEI is heavier than the SBEII, but it will float the fourth shell.
Great gun.

Wouldn't pay $750 for a used SBE I, that gun might be worth $300. If that.... People don't realize how quick a gun depreciates.

i have yet to actually see this.

Huh???
It's not a truck. A duck gun from 1970 can still be worth a good bit of money if it was well taken care of.

Probably a good thing, seeing as it's illegal

LOL. +1.
Depending on the condition of the gun I would say no more than 700-750.

You need to get out more....... If you find a solid SBE I or II for less than a grand then you need to buy it. The original H&K SBE is the only shotgun you will ever here considered as reliable an auto as the Auto 5's. There's a reason for that. Ya better buy that gun OP. You'll love it

Yeah it's a neat parlor trick. I would not hunt with the 4th shell.

If hunting alone or with only one other person.
Kidding, sort of. Doesn't matter though, most good delta hunters in the Mississippi flyway can run as many shells through a plugged pump as they could with a plugged auto, floating the fourth or not.
