It's a stupid rule. I blame the site. I have been setting my lineup with everyone I can get in. I don't count the starts. Just assumed it would stop me if I went over.

Well youre part of the problem. If we had some resemblance of an honor system, we would never encounter this.

Im stepping down

...what does assuming that the rule in place is working like it's supposed to have to do with honor?

Can we get some clarification on that max game rule??

Is it enforced??
I'm sure you smart guys have figured this out between the post I'm replying to and this post I am making...

The max starts is still in effect, however, if your team has less than 28, and on Sunday, the players starting puts you over 28, it counts their points.

For example: On saturday you hit the 28th start. Sunday, all of your players will be locked and no points will count.

On saturday you are at 26 starts. Sunday you have 3 players starting. Therefore you end up with 29 for the week.

I've actually benched players in the past on Sunday because I didn't know I could go above 28.

Kinda bullshite.
Or you could have read the rules and known how it works

I run a tight ship... and make up for the slack in leagues where the commish is unprepared.

I've never had to worry about it cause I have had too many injuries to come close to 28 starts.

however, it is a dumb fricking rule and you shouldn't have to look up to figure it out. when it is said you can have a max of 28 starts each matchup, no one would logically jump to the conclusion that you can go over 28 if you have less than 28 before the last day. 28 MAX means 28 maximum players. the interpretation is fricking retarded. espn is stupid

So ideally youd hit 27 starts Saturday night and have a full lineup Sunday for a total of 32/28. Seems legit.

all you broseph

imo everything that has happened so far should be left alone. too many things would have to be looked into. peoples intentions would have to try and be sorted out in multiple matchups to actually change anything which is impossible to do.

for the rest of the season though I would say that people better make sure to not go over the 28 starts or they won't count. it was noted at the start of this league that 28 was going to be the cap so everyone was made aware of this. now that we know espn's settings are retarded we can adjust accordingly

Make the rule and it shall be followed. If you make the rule and someone goes over 28, then they should forfeit. Make sure this is communicated in this thread and through an email for the inactive slackers who do not read this thread.

ETA: And as commish, make sure you know how to manually edit a matchup to make someone lose if they break the rule

...i feel like everyone was on the same page with expecting there to be a 28 start limit.

and i'm really not complaining/caring...hope i make the playoffs but if i do or don't, it won't be cause of the settings...

that's just the way i see it
