Could the media be more disingenuous in their reporting of the Ok. St. story

Obviously most here have read or heard about SI's "earth-shattering" 5 part article about OSU football. The relevant years at issue are 2001-2011. As we all know, Les Miles was the coach there from 01-04. HOWEVER, one might think he was there much longer based upon the headlines on many national websties:
CBSsports.com:
"Report: OK State players got paid under Les Miles"
ESPN.com:
"Report: OK State players got paid in Miles Era"
NBCsports.com
"Oklahoma State has caught scrutiny for alleged improprieties that began under Les Miles"
I'm sorry, and I know my math might be a bit fuzzy, but if these alleged "improprieties" lasted from 01-11 wouldn't there be a 7 year time period where Les Miles wasn't the coach at OSU? So is Mike Gundy getting a pass on this? Are we not going to talk about the fact that if this stuff is true, that it went on for nearly twice as long under Gundy as it did under Miles? Somehow, the CURRENT head coach of OSU under whom this stuff went on for nearly his entire tenure as head coach doesn't get mentioned in any of the headlines?
Alas, I guess no one would really give a shite about this story if the headlines read: "OK State players got paid under coach who's only won his conference once in 8 years and who barely registers a blip on the college football radar except for the time he made a silly speech about being a man!"

The difference is that Gundy is some guy who won a BCS bowl once while Miles has won one title, was in a second title game, and has finished in the top 10 numerous times.

Les is a higher profile coach than Gundy. pretty simple.

LSU fans didn't seem to give a damn when it was Auburn and Cam Newton getting accused of shite.

I'm not seeing where what they're saying isn't true...

I bet you'd be all up in arms over their journalistic integrity if they were investigating Michigan St. in the 90s

It's not that I care that Miles is getting accused of these things. If it went on from 01-11, then it certainly bears noting that Miles was the HC there for 4 of those years. My problem is national media portraying this as SOLELY a Miles issue when he was there only 4 of the 11 year time frame.

To be fair. It's not like most people knew how big a hack Thayer Evans is.

What's more disingenuous is just in the last couple weeks many of the same people acting like this is big news were arguing players should be paid because they wanted to see Manziel.

Gundy doesn't get click Les is one of the three most recognized coaches in college football .
