Dear LSU Students,

Thank you for your support at the home-opener against UAB on Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium. Despite the lightning delay, it was a great night for football in Death Valley and our Tigers played like a Top 10 team. Your passion and enthusiasm for LSU football makes the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium the best in college football.

Let me apologize for your experience entering Tiger Stadium this past weekend. This year, we tried to make entering the student gates easier and more efficient for you – the student body – but unfortunately the plan did not work as expected....it was a mistake.

We have met with representatives of Student Government and are working with all parties to rectify the situation for this weekend.

We understand that many of you weren’t able to get your tickets or ID scanned before entering the stadium, and as a result, anyone with a student ticket on their account will get full credit for attending the game.

Thank you for your continued support of all of our teams and your fellow students. We look forward to seeing you back in Tiger Stadium again on Saturday Night. Student support of our teams is essential to their success.

Geaux Tigers,
Joe Alleva
LSU Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics

what was the issue? I assume it was related to the new gates and stuff that was part of the north side renovations

I don't understand how people can manage to frick things up so bad.

They went from trying to make things "easier and more efficient" to a complete cluster frick... So I was told.
Reminds me of toonces.

It probably was but it took us an hour and a half to get into the game. Got to the gate at 5:00 and got to our seats just in time for pregame

I didn't see that side of the stadium until after the game, but what the hell is with that little 2 1/2 foot fence around the N. Endzone perimeter?

Instead of having 15 lines for the student gate, they had one line that then broke into 15 at the point of entry/ticket scanning.

From what one of my friends who used to be a big shot in student government was telling me...

This year LSU started offering an option for tickets to be scanned in from their iPhone instead of a paper ticket. As a result, LSU had to buy a whole new fleet of scanners to make this work. Normally, there are 16-20 scanners for the student gates. Only about half of them got delivered in time, so we only had 8 scanners working for the game.

It was an absolute disaster. Stood in line twice as long for UAB as I did for Alabama last year.

that's a pretty good idea. just sounds like kinks needed to be worked out.
