NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that Darius Miller suffered a stress fracture in his left foot. Team doctors discovered the injury after Miller experienced discomfort recently. Dr. Richard Ferkel of Southern California Orthopedic Institute surgically repaired the stress fracture. Miller will return to New Orleans on September 10, 2013 to begin the rehabilitation process. He is expected to miss 8-12 weeks.

Get well soon Darius

Does this potentially open a roster spot long term? He's been a bubble low miminutes guy anyway.

This was upped to 13 for the 2011-2012 season, then was made permanent.

The point remains the same. Just a tid-bit.

I could be full of shite (well, I am but not necessarily for the following, but I do think the guy has real potential . . . at least off the bench.

I agree with you...It looks like he's made a big jump from year 1 to year 2, and his shot looks pure.

He doesn't have the athleticism or handle to be anything special, but if he can play D and keep up the nice shooting, he can be a solid bench player/3-point specialist, imo.

...didn't think he would make it before the summer league, and yes, it is the summer league...but good spot-up shooting should translate.

Monty and Dell both have a soft spot for journeyman types. I don't think this will cost Miller his spot/chance unless they actually can land a better prospect. Not much point in making a lateral move with a 3rd stringer that's good friends with your superstar unless other injuries force your hand.

Yep. If he develops, he'll be the kind of player that every team can use. And it doesn't hurt that he and AD are buds.
