I did. When I find more sources saying the same, I'll believe. Either way, it rather shows how inept American government is if that's their rationale considering the rest of Europe doesn't abide by such foolishness.

I agree. I think a lot of it had to do with the failure that was prohibition coupled with the spread of evangelical american Protestantism, specifically the demonization of alcohol. Then you had the women's lib movement. All in all a clusterfrick. Louisiana was the lone holdout on the drinking age until the feds stepped in. bastards.

yea i'll stay on Mental Floss for hours...


i donate my old copies of the magazine to the local high school, and the librarian has told me a couple times over the past few years that it's by far the most popular magazine
