14 rushing attempts
38 passing attempts

Falcons averaged 6.9 yards per rush. I don't understand why they abandoned this.

The avg is a bit skewed because of that one long run. They weren't having that much success on the ground throughout the game

The middle of their D-like has usually been solid and that continued today. I think Payton will figure out something different because the only real success we had were those sort of draw runs off the pass. I look for us to adjust to more like that than just going traditional I...because that hasn't been working

Jackson had 77 yards on 11 carries.

One run was for 50.

Outside of that, he had 10 carries for a 2.7 average which is dog shite.

THAT's why they gave up on the rushing.

You have to take out the big rush to find a true average. They were not getting 7 yards every time.

That said, I do think they were doing well enough and they should have stayed with it.

Ouch didn't see this before I posted. That is pretty bad. I thought they were doing a little better.

Edit:
As I said before, Jackson is a sidestep from Turner in the run game. He has a bit more break away potential but behind that line he won't be as good as he was in St. Louie.

Where his impact comes from is in the passing game and that showed today. The Falcons will used this to feast on teams that protect the deep ball.

A number greatly skewed by Jackson's 50 yard run. You can't take that out of the stats but their other 13 runs only averaged 3.4 ypc.

The Saints were the ones with good pass-run (35/29) balance. But the run average was only 2.7 ypc. That's got to improve. Take Ingram out of the equation (and Drew's slide) and we rushed for 3.8 ypc

Been saying since the beginning of last season our line is not opening up holes.

Way too many times was there penetration before the back even had the ball.

We started clicking late last season but we need to get this fixed ASAP to help keep our D rested.
