New addition to armory. Savage B-MAG 17 super magnum, 21 in brl, accu-trigger, .17wsm 20 gr polymer tip cartridge, 3000 fps MV. Has an eight round rotary magazine. Mounted a Nikon 2-7x32BDC 150 Reticle scope. Waiting for Tues delivery of a Caldwell XLA Pivot 6-9 inch bipod. Gonna go to the range next weekend. Not great pics, but....

I shot one this weekend and found the bolt to be awkward. Definitely something that would take some getting used to. Did you have any issues working the bolt at first?

The bolt "cocks" the firing pin on closing, thus the extra effort to lock down the bolt. Some bolts "cock" on opening. Takes some getting used to. Is that what you are referring to? I find the action quite smooth, other than that.

I own the one that Choirboy shot this weekend. I love the round but not crazy about the gun. I think Savage could have done better.

I'm seriously interested in this round. (especially considering the lower ammo cost)

Do another post when you kill something with it. Really interested.

I have the same scope on mine. Got to shoot it for the first time last weekend. Very accurate rifle. Loving it so far. Can't wait to ride around and shoot shite with it at the camp.

Jealous! Mind if I ask how much you're into it for so far? I may have to add said varmit slayer to the gun case. 3000fps in a rim fire is crazy.

Thank the Lord. Savage had such awesome rimfire rifles with such incredibly shitty clips.

Don't get too excited, it's not a very well built rotary magazine. Kinda rough.

Well shite fire. Just copy ruger.

It's GOT to be better than the horrible stamped sticking-out-the-bottom no feeding crap boxes they had.

It's much better than that but not near as smooth as Ruger's.

As rate as these rifles seem to be the OB has done a good job of acquiring them. I think there are about 5 of us on here that have them.

MSRP is $349.00. Got mine during Labor Day Sale for a little less,$329.00. Gun shop said they were out of stock, but sales clerk double checked in the back, and bingo, lucky me. Scope was about $185.00 (199.00 msrp) including mounting and bore sighting. Rotary mag, which is mostly synthetic, was stiff but a drop or two of lube oil (rem oil) loosened it up a lot. Loads easily now. Ammo is scarce, right now. Came across some at a local gun show. Gun dealer said Winchester's plan was to target Oct for general retail sales for the ammo, but a seller (Walmart) "jumped the gun" and started early sales on the rifle . Rifles hit the market before the ammo, so to speak. Good luck finding one for now.
