Very good second half. That first goal was a beauty.

The defense is a little shaky, but overall I was impressed.

It was a good win. Parma will probably end up mid table but they're a tough test on the road with the type wing play that can give us trouble: Cassano, with so much quality it's ridiculous, roaming around in the spaces Maicon vacates and Biabany, who's among fastest players in the league doing the same on Balzaretti's side.

Ljajic has a lot of potential but we continue to see him up and down (brilliant last week and mediocre today).

Aside from Strootman again looking like he may give Pogba a run for his money as the best young midfielder, I thought Gervinho was a huge bright spot.

Him coming in around the hour mark and running time and again at tired defenders opened up a lot of space. Wish he would have laid off to Borriello at the end but his flying by 2 defenders on the counter before drawing the PK is honestly what I was expecting a bit more often from Lamela last year.

I was very shocked with Gervinho. He looked good and his direct play really shook the game up. Still cant believe he didnt square it to Boriello.

Maicon comeback will be fun to watch too.

It's funny to think back on all the articles bemoaning the uncomfortable place the new American owners would be in dealing with Totti's contract when it expired with him turning 37. As it turns out, he's playing at level that still has him among the best players in Europe at any age. It is truly remarkable.

Roma 2-0 Lazio goals

Incredible win for the the good guys in the most passionate derby of the day. The King of Roma with the decisive assist as usual.

The Passion of Balzaretti after his goal.

A comprehensive win today as Roma stays perfect through six matches with a 5-0 result over Bologna.

Still not ready to say Roma is going to compete with Juve and Napoli but 18 of 18 points with a 17-1 goal scoring margin is certainly a good start toward a CL spot.

Gervinho continues to impress with a brace today off 2 Totti assists as Totti continues to be the most incisive passer playing football.

Gervinho blows some chances but his pace and endless energy to run into spaces for Totti has been immense. I was skeptical of the signing but it seems clear Rudi Garcia knew exactly what he was getting from his time at Lille.

Medhi Benatia has been the best signing Roma's made in a long time.

We really need to get Bradley back to give De Rossi and Strootman a break though.

How is Bradley going to fit into the lineup once he's back to fitness? Any chance he ever starts over Strootman or is he relegated to backup duty? And how much better is Strootman than Bradley?

Bradley's not likely to beat out Strootman but he is likely to get a lot of playing time as backup to both Strootman and De Rossi.

I think Bradley's a very good player that completely belongs on a CL level roster but it seems like Strootman is going to be an elite midfielder, a fixture on the Dutch NT and having clubs like ManU wonder how they could have signed a Fellaini when he was possibly available.

Pjanic is a fricking magician in the midfield

He's so smooth.
It's helped his game that he's also gotten a lot tougher in fighting off challengers and doesn't disappear for long stretches the way he did his first couple of seasons.

Roma might have had one of the best offseasons I've seen in a long time. Adding Gervinho, Strootman, Ljajic, Benatia while losing Lamela is turning out to be a giant success. Lamela was a great player but I feel like he was too ball dominant at times, seems like there's better flow in the team now.

And Jedvaj could be a nice player in a few years.

glad to hear Gervinho is doing well. always had a soft spot for him. clearly talented, just was never going to have the confidence at Arsenal due to our fans, largely.

I think he would've worked so much better for us had he not screwed up in the afcon penalty kicks..

He really looked lacking in confidence after that and seemed to play better after this last cup

Yeah, a somewhat similar thing happened with Osvaldo at Roma after he uncomfortably grabbed a PK away from Totti and then muffed it. A lot of ultras were already unhappy that he was signed for such a high price and got on his case to an absurd level after that. It effected his play as he wasn't nearly as brash in the the way you want a striker to be after that and seemingly drifted off a bit from the team.

Roma fans really like Gervinho a lot-- characters like him always go over well in Rome -- and seem to be really pulling for him to turn around his bad run at Arsenal.

I couldn't agree more about Lamela. It's not really that he hogs the ball as much as he just hasn't developed much awareness and too often seems to be on a completely different page from everyone else.

I would have loved for Roma to have had the money to just keep letting him develop. He really can be world class if attacking tactics / spacing ever clicks for him but Roma is a much better side without him right now.

Benatia was really one of the first players in a long time that I hoped we signed for a couple years and actually finally did. I thought he was one of the best CBs in Italy during his time at Udinese. The Messi-esque goals I wasn't expecting at all though.

As a Spurs fan, I'm worried about Lamela. I hope he can feel comfortable in North London soon. The Roma success is not a good sign.
