So had a change of plans regarding hotel and dining. I fricked up the hotel reservation but now we are staying in the same hotel as some friends, Marriott Convention.

Looks like we are heading to Capdeville for happy hour and some eats an then God only knows.

Sounds like a great weekend.

Herbsaint is the closest really good place.
Not far and damn good is Le Foret for a more romantic scene.

Also, you probably should call today if you hope to get reservations.

Add either Peche or Cochon to the list - but, it'll be tough to get a table on Sat night this late.

Borgne, at the Hyatt.

yeah Borgne is good .. not the best choice if he would have planned ahead more as many good places will be booked .. but it's good food and he'll probably be able to get in there.

also I'd suggest Little Gem Saloon. cool place with good drinks and decent food, and I'll be it'll be fairly easy to get a good time slot reservation there. also consider a couple places in the quarter that may not be booked up yet: Meauxbar and Eat.

Everything's booked like crazy this weekend.. Get working on those reservations now. You might have to cab somewhere like Commander's Palace or Tableau if you're having trouble finding anything in the warehouse district. Good luck.

If you want to stay in warehouse district, another option is La Boca

Domenica is right down the street. It can be inexpensive and casual. Plus the food is outstanding.

ETA:

What about A Man oh nevermind.

After talking to the wife she would prefer a casual dining. Nothing real fancy

Well, the only two mentioned so far in this thread that is "fancy" is Commanders and Le Foret.

Sounds like Borgne at your hotel or Domeneca might be your best options.

Borgne's happy hour is one of the best in the city. Even not during happy hour, I'd recommend it.

Lucky for you almost every place listed in this thread is pretty casual.

Not for dinner but I would check out Vitascope at the Hyatt pre game.

Pretty much narrowed it down to Borgne and Luke. Both close, casual. I do like the half price drinks from 3-6 at Borgne!

If sushi is an option, consider Horinoya, just a few blocks down Poydras.

That drink special extends to Domenica and I think the food is better. You may want the style of food at Borgne but Domenica is better. IMO

Best thing I've ever had at Borgne was better than the best thing I've ever had at Domenica, fwiw.

Can't speak to the entire breadth of each menu though.

Best thing I can say is they have a phenomenal Gin cocktail there. Seek it out.
