Was this a dirty hit for targeting the quarterback?

That dip of the head at the end was what got him. I think that deserved the flag and with the new rule the ejection. Saw a couple of other ejections this weekend that probably weren't deserved though.

If you listened close when game was on someone thought the hit was chicken $hit and kept yelling. Sounded like radio was bobby Hebert on the sideline?

That QB slid really late and he slid sideways. The Oregon player is going low to try and tackle him. How is he supposed to pull up so quickly?

And he is committed to the tackle when the QB started his slide.

no

to clarify i do think it was lazy and stupid. i think he was going low before the runner got down and it wound up being dirty. i don't believe his intent was dirty.

He didn't have to pull up. He just had to keep his head up, which he should have been doing anyway.

He hit him with his shoulder. 90% of DBs tackle low with their head like that.

Don't think the intent was there as he clearly made his move to tackle the QB before the slide. Should have kept his head up.

I don't believe the intent by the player was dirty. But I agree with the ejection. The only thing that bothered me was that the player was shown laughing on the sideline while Hebert was still on the ground.

Head hunting is going to draw an ejection the vast majority of the time.

His shoulder may have hit him after he popped him helmet to helmet, but that was definitely helmet to helmet first contact.

Doubt it, but I agree way too many players tackle with their head down and the crown of their helmet making first contact with the ball carrier. Bad form and very dangerous.
