Chris Matthews: Obama Has Put Democrats In A Bad Position

LINK
quote:

Chris Matthews lamented Wednesday that President Obama is putting Congressional Democrats who don't support U.S. military action against Syria "in a bad position."

The MSNBC host appeared on "Morning Joe" to discuss the president's call for intervention. "I think the Democrats are going to be forced to sacrifice men and women who really, really don’t want to vote for this," Matthews said. "They’re going to have to vote for it to save the president’s hide. That's a bad position to put your party in."

And he also warned of the inevitable blowback if we attack Syria.

Let's not worry about the men and women in the military who will be sacrificed to save his hide though.

To be fair Obama's hide is awesome.

But the Repubs aren't concerned with Obama's hide and lots of them are supporting this crap. They like the Democrats are concerned about their hides and what happens if they displease AIPAC.

This is about Iran, not oil pipelines or chemical weapons. We can't strike Iran directly so this is the compromise, strike an Iranian surrogate.

Loyalty even against your own better judgement runs deep with them. Now Russia is back in the fold saying Kerry lied.

Meanwhile in Damascus........

When Bush was in office, yes. Both are blinded by party "loyalty". The two party system works perfectly to maintain central power.

Obama's hide is black, therefore if you don't vote to save it then you're racist.

can you provide any quotes of republican lawmakers, or conservative pundits suggesting, vote for party over their principles?

I think democrats put themselves in a bad position by attacking our president during a time of war thrust upon us by radical muslims.

The Iraq war was put forth to congress and voted on , no one but a fool says that the CIA misled congress , the CIA under Clinton in 1999 was saying the VERY SAME THING , before 9/11, Saddam moved the WMDs to Syria , he murdered 1.7 million Iraqis , have the democrats no shame ?

Obama cares about Obama. He doesn't care what his actions do to the democratic party. He covers his ass.

Let's make a deal.

Obama gets the authorization of force in exchange for defunding Obamacare.

I'll shake on it.

Romney! The whole fricking campaign stemmed around "Well he's not the best, but he's better than Obama, and by golly he's the most electable". Once it became evident he was going to be the candidate, they suddenly loved Romney.

According to Uncle Joe, Iran is not a problem. They are no closer to be a nuclear power, than Antigua.

Not a fail. They encouraged repubs to vote against their principles and pull the lever for Romney.

"A vote for a 3rd party candidate (following principles mind you) or a write in, is a vote for Obama."

You apparently cannot read. Go find me a citation where republicans voted for the Iraq war out of party loyalty over their own convictions. Still waiting....
