Sweet. Not sure if it will come true, but if it does, then that means our def has improved as a result of his play.

Barnwell is a very good writer IMO, I've
Missed most of preseason bc of work so
I'm excited to see him in action

He also had us in his rising teams, saying he left us out of the top 8 because of injuries in the preseason being so bad (he puts too much stock into Smith/Vilma, but Butler was a big blow). Had the Falcons in the falling off teams yesterday.

1 person picked the Saints to win the NFC South out of 12, although the division has yet to have a back-to-back champion.

Matt Ryan, Russel Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, and even Michael Vick received a vote for MVP. Brees did not.

Flying under the radar is an understatement.

I know it will be hard to win defensive ROY, but

Sean Payton said Kenny Vaccaro is the most impressive rookie he has seen since joining the Saints and he's the most impressive rookie he's seen since Jeremy Shockey (who won rookie of the year)

Sounds Great.

Geaux Saints!

Looking at the opportunity he'll have for playing time, and how well he played in the preseason, Vaccaro has to be one of the front runners for DROY.

I know their opinions don't matter, but it's insane how many of them picked the Falcons to win the division. It's also crazy how we keep getting discredited for our defense, yet almost every media member ignores the losses that ATL had this offseason.

Considering how epicly bad the D was last year, this is a ray of hope.

he has Vaccaro winning DROY, but the Bucs winning the South and the Saints and Falcons both missing the playoffs?

I guess Vaccaro takes out Brees and Ryan in week 1

it is amazing how trendy NFL teams and players are. The entire talk is kaep, rg3, cam, luck, wilson...you can almost take it to the bank that 3 of these players are in for disappointing seasons. 9ers, seahawks, falcons and redskins...I wouldn't be shocked if only one of these teams makes the playoffs. These handjob journalist who have covered the league for 20 plus years never learn, they always think the NFL is static, then week 1 comes and they already look stupid.

guess who the top 4 quarterbacks will be at the end of the year?

Brees
Rodgers
Manning
Brady

This is why i hate sports journalism. It's so reactionary and stupid. "the wildcat is here to stay" it was gone by the middle of the next season. "spread option is here to stay" guess what's going to happen

you know what has never gone away? i formation, shotgun, etc...

christ, the only downside to NFL season is having to listen to these jerkoffs.

i cannot speak for espn because i don't watch it. But PFT, SI, NFL network, NFL sirius radio...

it's all about those 5 quarterbacks who were impressive rookies (i know kaep technically isn't a rookie) "oooh the spread option is here to stay"

What kind of an NFL world do i live in where brees, brady, manning and rodgers are somehow completely off the radar of NFL coverage?

This is all spot on.

Lets push the next big thing and say "I told ya so". However, none of the other guys listed can hold the jocks of the big 4.

When is the last time someone actually ran the wildcat? 2 years? Since Sparano left Miami?

I feel the same way about the read-option.

Football is football. Everything is basic. QB, FB, RB, TE, WR, WR. Even if you go west coast, pull the FB add a WR/TE. Its all fundamentally the same. This gimmick shite will always go away. If any QB wants to play in the pros for a long time, he better learn how to take a snap under center and read a defense.

yeah, that is pretty sad.

I am really confused how people always think they see the next big thing. Everyone should have known the wildcat wouldn't last in a pass-happy league.

Now with the NFL confirming that the QB is live on running plays unless they give themselves up (basically run backwards after the handoff with their hands visible...) will lead to a lot more guys gunning after these spread option QBs.

I doubt the smaller framed QBs hold up to as much punishment this season.

Journalist ruin players. I'm pretty much hate RG3, not because he's a bad person but because he's shoved down out throats.
