Both played games with NFL players and are running a defense through the mind of a defensive guru. Obviously staff puts a lot of faith into them, but I'm just not sure about the either of them.

I mean you can find solid highlights for both players, but I feel like Loston misses a lot of open field tackles and Barrow is a slow, though heavy-hitter out there. Whats the consensus?

They'll probably be playing on Sundays sometime in the near future. Or at least standing on the sidelines.

I think once Loston gets used to having to avoid the targeting rule he will be fine. Once it clicks(which it might already have) he will be scary(ier).

I don't think we can take much concerning the LBs from the first game with Debo out. Barrow will do what he did last year and quietly get 100+ tackles and be a 2nd day draft pick.

I expect better tackling, not just from them but the whole defense...

Teams will go 4 wides and expose Loston's bad cover skills like Clemson did last year....has a nose for the football though so will probably be a flyer pick in the 5th round next year

I don't think Loston is the best evar, but he led in tackeles so we shall see how his year progresses. Barrow was non-existent in the last game.

Mills will be the best athlete in coverage and will have a great year. I see him as as a top 5 corner in the SEC.

When TCU went 4 receivers we pressed Eugene and Martin. They both covered well.

JMO but to me,Loston focuses on laying a hit which he is really good at but he never focuses on the ball in the air. I am sure all of you saw him looking to hit the Receiver when he could have had an interception in the TCU game. Can't recall exactly where it was in the game.

I'll second that emotion.

I am curious as to how he is going to act after watching his film and seeing those missed opportunities. It's not like the next two games will be nail biters so he might as well give a go at thinking more about playing the ball right?

As for Barrow, no worries mate.

All Loston does is hit. Poor fundamentals. If he could dial down his desire to lay the big hit and focus more on actually playing sound, fundamental football, he's be outstanding.

Both need to bring more of a complete game to elevate our D. They need to keep the physicality but bring the smarts with it.

I am never worried about our D ever, usually it's the O but that's looking good.

As long as we can keep our D off the field it really doesn't matter. Every championship year we had a offense that could sustain and complete drives. This year, SO FAR, seems to have a similar feel to 2003 and 2007.

Plus in my mind the SEC isn't that impressive this year.

Theres no way he makes that INT that Allen tipped in the flat, Welter was the closest one to it. I love the way Losten plays, makes them think twice about coming over the middle

Barrow- Will not be like the 2 LB from Georgia who came in together. He looked very slow and out of place against TCU. I think he was trying to see if Welter needed help (which he did very much)

Loston- Not very smart as he is still trying to spear everyone. Will not comment about the almost int... He has a good chance of being ejected this year with that type of play. I do not understand why the coaches did not correct that from him. If he would play sound football fundamentals, he would be much better

looked to me like he was pretty focused on making clean hits. The hit on the last drive might have saved the game.
