I just re-watched the game and paid specific attention to our WRs. First off, there appears to be a big drop-off after OBJ & Landry.

More impressively, none of our receivers were able to provide separation against the stiff TCU D. It seemed like every receiver was blanketed except 1 and Mett always hit that one receiver. And even when all receivers were covered well, Mett made a few NFL throws to pin the needle or "throw the receiver open."

Overall, I was extremely impressed with Mett. OBJ played great but still dropped 3 passes I would expect an elite WR to catch. I envision lots of improvement on Saturday.

In all seriousness, give dural time he will shine in this offense. I believe that tcu pass defense will be the best we face besides bama and uf.

Not saying they have a pp21 or claiborne but that cb with dreads is an all american shutting down his half the field. We will improve.

He didn't have a single intentional grounding

His accuracy. Long ball looked good. My favorite throw was the back shoulder throw in the fourth.

Give credit where credit is due. TCU backs, especially #25 (White ?), were very good. Some pretty good battles going on between them and OBJ & Landry. Fun to watch.

The backs shoulder throw to OBJ was as NFL esque as it gets. He's definitely improved. And the TCU secondary is no joke.

I still don't like how it seems like we barely beat the clock getting plays in at times, like if the other guys don't come out in a certain defense, it throws us off as we are forced to look to the sidelines to adjust. As if Mett isn't given any autonomy as a QB to make the audibles himself.

Is that Les Miles wanting too much control? Or am I misreading the situation entirely?

It's really too bad Mett doesn't have a stud receiver like a Calvin Johnson type receiver to throw to. I think that is what this team is missing to get its passing woes behind them.

3rd down passing was the most impressive to me; also there were a couple throws to the sideline that were NFL caliber

I was most impressed with his pocket awareness. I counted twice he had a rusher free on his blindside about to make the sack and he smartly threw the ball away.

Last years Mett would have eaten at least two more sacks that night. Plus he has obviously put some time in on the jump rope.

Do you realize that 95% of the teams in the NFL don't have a Calvin Johnson type receiver to throw to as well?

Yeah I really wish he had a TE like Jimmy Graham. An RB like Adrian Peterson would really open up the passing game too.

His pocket awareness and mobility in the pocket was simply night and day from last year. I'm so excited about this season going forward.
