How big is a Trophy Bass

Is an 8lber still considered a trophy bass or is 10lbs the rule of thumb these days. My personal best is 6lbs on two occasions. Just about everyone I associate with have killed multiple wall hanger(8pt+) bucks but I can't think of but one person whose biggest bass is over 8lbs yet it seems all the trophy lake associations require at least 10lbs to participate in their "release a lunker" programs. What's the OB consider minimum wall hanger candidate.

If/when I catch a 7lb+, its going on the wall

In Texas any bass 13+ can be put into the ShareLunker program, but I typically think of 10+ as a lunker.

I mounted my first 7 lber, have caught several since then and will not mount one or have a replica done unless it is over 10 now.

7 lbs or bigger - hoist pic
10 lbs or bigger- mount a copy of that mule

Same gauge for Trout as bass. 10 Pounds and either one is getting stuffed.

I'm not putting one on the wall unless its 8lbs plus, my PB is 7 and have caught multiple 6's...all released

Depends on where you catch it.
I have some family land with a pond on it that we can catch bass easily 5lbs, and it's not rare for someone to pull one out as big as 10lbs. Those aren't throphys to me as we have made it that way on design.
When I got fishing out on public waters and I catch a bass 7lbs+ I consider that a trophy. It took a lot more to get it then just throwing a bait in the water.

An 8 lb-er is a pig. That'd be a trophy for me.
Hell, last year I caught a 1.5 lb chinq that I considered a trophy.

This, for sure.
The spot I always post pics from is a landlocked body of water near the river. Alway catch and release, it is not a stocked/managed pond, it just has the same good fish in it every time.
We catch multiple 4-5 lb fish each trip, with a few 8-9 every once in a while (I have not yet been so lucky with those). The largest bass was 11 lbs last February.
Big, open, public water is where I would shite myself if I reeled in a 5+ lb fish.

I caught 2 over 10lb in LAWO. Mounted one and let the other go

I think I will know it when I catch it. I caught the one below earlier this year and never considered having it mounted. Maybe I should have just because she was so long....27" right at 7 pounds. She just didn't look like a good enough one to mount. It's my personal best, but hopefully I'll catch a bigger one.

Over 10, going on the wall. Still am pissed I couldn't mount that 18 pounder ( I think that's what it is now)

In our fishing household, if it tips 10, it will get hauled to the taxidermist.

I think its all relative to where you are and what kind of bass they produce. An 8lb largemouth here in Central FL is certainly a trophy that many if not most bass anglers will get on an annual or more basis.
I've gone over 10lbs three times since 2007 and havent kept any of them. Really not that uncommon here in the Spring when the big sows are on their bed. I've never actually mounted a fish of any sort so I just get a pic and let them go.
