I'm watching the QB and a WR and possibly more players wearing gold chains with medallions and other "bling".

Is this common?

I thought that was against the rules.

Am I just getting old?

RB has one too. Damn, seems dangerous. Some DT is going to use that like a garrote.

I definitely saw that on the big screen. I made a comment about the safety of it when I saw it.

I have a very thin 24 inch gold rope chain that I wore to every practice, every game, every weight lifting/conditioning meet, and even when I play basketball. Never once been broken. In fact, the only time I broke it, is in a random drunken incident when I was taking off my shirt and it was caught up in it.

It's not really that unsafe

I know a guy who got his caught on a pastry rack in the Marines while leaning over to pick something up. He bruised his escophogus and was in the hospital for a month.

Any type of jewelry is unsafe, and that's why it is not allowed in basketball. Football should be no different imo
