Hootie his own man. Rivals article
Posted by LSUTIGER#1fan on 9/2/13 at 5:26 pm00
LINK =. If anyone is a rivals member could they sum it up? I saw it says he will make his own decision and the two cams, sims and Robinson want affect him.

He went to the TCU game and enjoyed it and talked to John Diarse who says he loves LSU
Knows where Crob is going but is not telling
Decision is not based on friendships with Crob and Cam Sims.

Great. IMO he's a bigger must get than CRob. We aren't loaded with proven safeties and Loston will be gone with Martin leaving the following year. Bama is stacked at safety with Landon Collins sitting the bench. If only he could sway CRob

Hootie doesnt realize the magnitude of information he has in his brain right now

While both are very important, Hootie is not a bigger get than CRob. Sorry.
And not that many teams have multiple proven safeties. LC isnt proven yet either. Still just playing ST. After this year, assuming Martin stays, we have Martin, Eugene, Thompson, Sandolph, Ricky Jefferson. Ed Paris could play safety also. And Martin, Eugene, and Thompson all have good experience. Eugene plays just as many minutes as a starter does. And from everything I hear, Ricky Jefferson is going to be a player.
Weve got more experience at safety than we do at LT. Does Vadal make the switch back to OT?? Hawkins is good. Thats 2 OT. Its harder to find a great OT than it is to find a safety. Especially being LSU(DBU) and being in Louisiana. We always put out legit DBs and DL in Louisiana. Finding a bonafide star at LT,like CRob, is harder than finding a good safety.
CRob and LF is a tossup when it comes to who is the bigger get. CRob is that important.
If we dont get him on wednesday, then we dont get him. We will move on. But saying Hootie is a bigger get than CRob is just flat out not true. Is Hootie a great looking prospect?? Of course. Im not saying hes not a stud. Because he is. But LT prospects like CRob dont come along very often.

I talk to Hootie a good bit....last week he said he didn't know where CR was going and unless he has a great poker face I believed him.
quote:Because the recruiting sites have him rated higher? At this point it's all speculation. After they play a full season we will have a better idea how big a loss he is.....

No. Did you even read what I said, besides the last sentence??
We put out solid safeties year in and year out. The state of LA has always been loaded with DBs and DL.
Yea CRob is ranked ahead of him. But I wasnt saying that hes a bigger get than Hootie is because hes ranked higher. Clifton Garrett is ranked behind Hootie, and I think hes 1 of the biggets gets we can have! And I said Hootie is a stud. CRob is a bigger get because he plays the most important position on offense besides QB, and at camps and in games he not only wins the battle against his opponent, he DOMINATES them. He dominated the best DL the nation had to offer at his camps and showcases. La'el Collins was a huge prospect and a huge get for us. And CRob is a better looking OT prospect than Collins was.
Everyone says LF is a once in a lifetime or once in every 20 years prospect. And LF is def all that and more. But, if LF is that, than CRob is a once in 10 year prospect. Hes 1 of the best looking OT prospect that ive seen in a long long time. Every bit as good of a prospect as Cyrus Koundajo was. There is always a prospect like Hootie Jones every year. There is usually a guy like him in the state of LA if we have a good crop of prospects coming out. Not bashing Hootie or anything like that. I want him just as bad as I want CRob. The kid is a stud. But, there are guys like him every year. Rarely do you have a LT prospect on the level of CRob. And its even more rare that hes from the state of LA.
That is why hes a bigger get than Hootie.

I think it's more of the fact that he knows cam is announcing Wednesday an doesn't want people to automatically assume that's where hootie is going bc of that. I don't think he's saying "okay guys, when can picks bama, don't assume I'm going too".
I think we get cam fwiw. But either way, hootie is just trying to separate their recruiting processes.
