I have no idea what he stats were, but he played better than them. He whipped the ball around and seemed to convert as many 3rd and longs as Jamarcus and Rohan. When Jeremy Hill gets back and we can consistently put Mett in 2nd and 3 and 3rd and 2, he is going to hurt people. I absolutely loved his composure and how we winged the ball in there once he made a decision.

Our offense is another playmaker at WR and a Jeremy Hill away from being damn near unstoppable .

He was 16 of 32 passing, which seems to have fricked with people's brains.

Mett was composed, accurate, smart with the ball, actually had a giddyup in his step running for 1st down when necessary, deep throw accuracy, pocket presence.

It's just game 1, but every flaw in his play from last year looked 10x better last night.

He had great protection for most of the night and was able to stand in there and make some throws. He will need to be able to get it off quicker when he faces teams with better pass rushes/DL's. Overall I was impressed. Hope he can keep it up. I think we are seeing Cam Cameron paying dividends.

You think the rant will suddenly stop imploding because Mett had one good game. How cute.

I'm not counting on it. The negatiger I watched the game with bitched nonstop from first to last. Toward the end of the game, they showed a graphic with our remaining schedule, and he proclaimed that we'd be the underdog in all our SEC games, including MSU.

He and Landry both had great games. Other receivers will come around. Metts stats and the final score a little skew'd do to the fumble and settling for fg when we should of had TD.

I would probably not watch football with someone that insufferable.

I agree with the commentators from last night. Mett needs a damn TE to step up. Having a huge target in the shirt middle would be great.

Lol, I have to watch the games by myself now. Having other tiger fans/ex friends/ ex lafayette friends talk shite about miles or players pisses me off too much.

That one thing that was most impressive to me was that he had 9 or 10 completions on 3rd down and each one of those were good enough for a 1st down. A big problem last season was getting a 7 yard completion on 3rd & 9.

I would choose other friends, I refuse to surround myself with morons.

How many 3 and outs did we have last night? Last season, we would go quarters without a first down. Our offense last night was light years ahead, and a Gary Patterson defense is no joke.

He had two or three bad passes. Everything other throw was very accurate. NFL scouts are drooling.

This was my one post last night.

Mett was a fricking surgeon last night. He sliced that D to pieces with smart, accurate, pinpoint passes all over the field. He moved exceptionally well in the pocket and even ran for a crucial 3rd down conversion. His 3rd down play was simply perfect. He was calm, smart, accurate, and extremely clutch in a huge game against a great D ON THE ROAD, which was where he struggled last year.

All of this against an always great Gary Patterson D with perhaps the best secondary in the country that will be ranked in the top 10-20 at the end of the year.

The last third down conversion of the game when he zapped a fricking laser beam to OBJ on a back shoulder throw along the sideline on like 3rd and 12 was an Aaron Rodgers special that I don't think any other quarterback in the country can make. It was Jamarcus like in 06. Outstanding arm talent.

Everyone complaining about the deep balls last year saw how he can make those throws when he has protection to step into the throw and the receiver gives him enough separation to deliver it, and he doesn't need a lot. Beckham dropped a picture perfect rainbow bomb that hit him in the hands. Other than that OBJ balled up though.

His quick decisions and awareness on those two busted screens to immediately ground the ball, one of which was in our own endzone, show he's got things figured out. He was making calls at the line all night too. Total control of our O.

The ONLY bad play was at the end of the half with no timeouts when he threw short of the goal line to a covered receiver that would have let time expire and cost us a chipshot FG.

Other than that Mett just played the best game of any LSU QB since Flynn in the BCSCG. And he did way more than Flynn was asked to do in that game.

Mett is going to make himself a first round pick now that he has an OL and Jarvis and Odell are playing their natural positions.

All I want to see now is getting TEs involved.

And you're right Carl, I love Magee for stepping up like a champ last night. But when Hill comes back, this will be 2007 LSU O all over again.

Great on 3rd downs. Think he ended up in the 50-60% completion. Could have been better but there were 3-4 drops

I was impressed with what i felt couldnt be taught (to him) - his pocket presence. last year he couldnt tell if a mack truck was about to blast his rear - this game was a total turn around. didnt know one could be "taught" that. impressed!!!!

The out route to Landry between two defenders was the best throw you'll see all year. That is far and away the hardest throw to make in football. IfLandry catches the perfect bomb Mett has 300+ and easily could've had 3 touchdowns. TCU is as good as every defense LSU will play except Bama.

For some reason, I was thinking Cameron was going to do something innovative and unusual. Instead, what he did was make everything simple, and fundamentally sound.

We looked like the fricking Pittsburg Steelers of the 70s out there. Mett wasn't gonna throw for high percentage, but that's fine- his completions were to WRs down the field for first downs. No dink and dunk, no fancy packages, no trick formations; just solid offense in a base formation. You WILL have to play against the run off-tackle, because it's coming. Run the ball up your nose until you crack; and if we need a "trick run", it's Beckham on an end-around out of the base. And because every play looks like it could be an off-tackle run, we're gonna run play-action passes, and those will be down the field- no 5 yd routes. Mett might only complete 50%, but what he completes will be first downs.

Simple football, really. And it's what the choir has been preaching for years- we have the talent to play straight-up, no need to make it complicated.
