Prior Splinter Cell Games required before Blacklist

I have all of them in my library except for Pandora Tomorrow, but have only ever beaten the first game. If I jump into Blacklist will I be missing a lot or is it pretty much a standalone experience?

doubt it, they tossed ironside and apparently turned the clock back on sam 20 years, so im sure prior knowledge is not required

I plan on playing chaos theory and watching walkthroughs of the rest

+1
They use a couple characters from the past but nothing pertinent to the story line. At first there is turbulence between you and Grimm from the last game, but Sam and Grimm makeup to play nice.
Game is bad arse. Im playing on normal to open up all the weapons, gadgets, and plane upgrades. After this go around ill set it to perfectionist and replay all levels.
