Syria: So where do we stand?

Are we going to strike or not? I'm glad we haven't, but Obama looks like a fricking pussy after all of his saber rattling.

They claimed it would happen quickly and we would go it alone if need be. Since then, all international support aside from France has dwindled and if the purpose was to take out the weapons, we have now given them a week to move them.

Obama realizing that he puffed out his chest too quickly and now backtracking?

If we strike we accomplish nothing. We lob some missiles that can only hit stationary targets. Then what? Nothing changes.

The Idiot-in-Chief is consulting with the top scientists in the world to find a way to extract his oversized foot from his moronic and arrogant mouth.

Translation: He's begging his friends in the mainstream media to just act like nothing is happening in the Mideast and to ignore the story completely hoping that it will just go away so his Kool-Aid drinking and mindless followers (see Rex) will go on thinking that he's not the completely inept idiot that he is and always has been.

I agree and its not even proven whether Assad did the gassing or the rebels.

Like I said, I think we should stay out, especially since the rebels are tied to AQ.... But you can't make all of these threats, bang the warms drums, and then sit on your hands. You look weak as shite

I guess thats what you get when youve never managed anything of substance in your life.

Football is starting today so whatever happens, it will be less noticed until after the Superbowl.

I am on the fence on if we should do it. But I must agree the time to do it has passed. If you hit them you don't fricking warn them. That accomplishes nothing.

Leading from behind is our present position. When a decision should have been made we sat on our asses. That faux pas led to everyone else getting off the hook or genuinely opposing any action. We cannot bring it to the Security Council both Russia and China will veto any use of force. The Brits voted any action down which leave only the /French to

Yup, I think the French are the only majors to support the action. I'm pretty sure Australia pulled out.

Its hilarious that the left claims "We should be friends with the international community and care what they think" yet they are pushing for this with virtually no support.

Hell, at lease Bush has 20+ countries on board for his asinine attack

Yep. Time has passed and there is no way to engage in anything that would be significant without putting lives at greater risk.

It really is a no win. I'd say sit tight and wait. Monitor and gather intelligence on locations of the chemical weapons. Have a fluid plan in place so if they do it again we can respond appropriately.

Edit: seems that indecision is the theme of the academicians in this administration.

I can't really say because I don't know all the dynamics that are in play there. The only way I'd strike is if America and its people are in danger. But if that just consist of lobbing a few missiles across the bow, then I wouldn't risk escalation just to have my foot removed from my mouth.

That's right. It's a flashback to the Revolutionary War, with only France willing to help out the colonists.
