Looking to buy about 30-50 acres for all types of hunting within about a 2 hour drive of Baton Rouge. Any suggestions on where to look? Tia

I have noticed as the number of acres drop, the price per acre increases...

A better question: if I have $400k to spend (I don't) where do I get the best bang for my money...

How broad is your scope? Regionally speaking, you can still find extremely cheap dirt in SE OK and South AR to a lesser extent. In LA, the central part of the state generally has the cheapest dirt.

Join a partnership. There are some awesome clubs up and down the river that 400k will get you all the hunting and fishing you could ever dream of and you would be a full share member in a LLC land company

Crosby, liberty, McComb area.

Know of some places for sale in the wilkinson county area on 24 west but I wouldn't buy anything in that county unless I was completely off the grid and deep off the beaten path.

I live in Amite county. I will keep a lookout. Also, check out the Mississippi market bulletin for land for sale. It's listed by the county.

OP, we need more info. What is your budget? Do you want a camp? Are you willig to pay extra for improvements, or do you just want bare land? Do you prefer cheap (clear-cut) or are you willing to pay for timber land?

I understand that Weyerhaeuser has put some of their smaller timber parcels up for sale in Washington Parish.
