Chappelle walks off stage at Hartford, Conn. Funny or Die Tour last night

LINK

I saw him perform in Dallas last Sunday. I would have been pissed at the rest of the crowd if they would have pulled this shite at our show.

He didn't even do a full hour at the Houston show. All he did was whine about walking away from $50 Million for most of the set.

Yeah the first thing he said at ours was that he had 11 minutes of material and he had to spread it over an hour. He ended with some random skit where he found some black guy wearing a cowboy hat in the audience and pretended like they were cowboys or something. Oh and he bitched about the heat about every 30 seconds. Honestly, it wasn't his best stuff but at least he didn't walk off the stage at ours.

doesnt surprise me.

my brother told me that when he performed in nola years ago he was talking about how terrible people had been acting since his show blew up. couldnt get through a standup routine without people yelling stupid shite like im rick james bitch and whatever else from the show. sucks because the guy is one of the greats.

just stfu and listen to the show. yelling out shite and acting like idiots is dispicable

I was there and this is completely acurate. What idiot goes to a standup and starts yelling stupid quotes from a TV show?

I've never once gone to a comedy concert here there weren't hecklers. I saw him in 2003 in New Orleans he he was heckled, but he really has gone nuts now.

Yeah I've heard he's done this before with people telling Chappelle's Show quotes. What the frick are people thinking? Thus isn't Larry the Cable Guy. "If I yell out a quote from the show then it's like i''m the comedian. God I'm fricking hilarious."

At ours he railed on Paula Dean for 10 minutes, spent the next 20 minutes bitching about how he wished he was $50 Million richer. It ended with some of his friends bringing a cake on stage and bullshiteting around because it was his birthday. After, the crowd sang him happy birthday he said thanks you, good night and walked off stage around 40 minutes into the set. It was pretty clear he doesn't want to do this tour and is mailing it in collecting a paycheck.

Yeah I was at his show at UNO. His show was the hottest thing and people yelled WHAT and OKAAAYYY a lot. He would mention it and you could tell he was irritated but he still had a pretty good set.

We are just swimming in a sea of idiots. Add a little alcohol and a few of them lose their shite.

Thank god the BR people seem to know how to watch a comedy show. I've seen some good acts here and the audience shuts up unless the comedian asks for interaction.

unfortunately a lot of people in this world think they're funny when in reality when they open their mouths its cringe worthy.

Yup he did Paula Dean at ours and the bit about that legless olympic runner going to prison. Then he just kind of jacked around for the next half hour. I agree that he isn't feeling this tour. He does better with smaller groups and thrives on one-on-one interaction with the audience and when there are thousands in the crowd (I think there was 18k at the Dallas show) and many are drunk and yelling stupid shite it really turns him off.

Judging from the responses here, it seems like Chappelle is just half assing it and acting like a bitch. Talk about a fall from grace.

I'm not defending the crowd. But does it seem to some you guys that have seen one of his shows recently that he's being a bit of a prima donna?

watch any famous comedy show of all time. Pryor, Murphy, Carlin, Hicks.. etc you will hear hecklers, there are always hecklers. Comedians can either ignore it or flip it on them.

Chappelle did this in 2003, but now it's like he forgot how to do stand up. His stupid arse should have stuck to Comedy Central and threw his fear of blaxplotation out the window.
