Marcin Gortat, do you have any interest?

After this evening, the Suns are nearly done with their roster strip down. If Gortat becomes available in a fair deal would you be interested or want dell to pursue? Hard to know what is fair esp since he's an expiring contract.

We might not even have the assets to pull it off. Just curious. Would love Jeff Green as another target but I'm not sure what we are willing to deal.

I would think Phoenix would be looking for draft picks and/or young talent still on rookie deals, and we are pretty much out of those kinds of expendable assets.

Yep. And Boston is looking for the same thing if they decide to dump Green to tank.

Plus how do they make the salaries work? Rivers, Smiht, minimum guy open enough space to get someone worthwhile?

I they're just dumping him, and a "fair deal" is something along the lines Withey and a 2nd round pick, then sure. Hell, I'd even sub in Smith for Withey in that deal if we could get Gortat extended.

At this point, screw jeff green. He might seem like he's got it at times, but he doesn't have a reliable game.

We aren't going to get him anyway, but if we could I'm all for it

Big upgrade over everything we have at the 5 right now

I'd take Gortat at the five, but I don't really want to give up anyone on the roster for him.

I see Gortat ending up in a place like OKC..in exchange for one of their assets and Perkins. Or something like that. OKC would be damn good if that went down, btw.

ETA: wrong post...

That would be a scary team. Would anyone actually take Perkins on, though?

Pelicans Get:
Marcin Gortat
2014 first round pick

Suns Get:
Eric Gordon
Greg Steisma
2016 1st rounder

Pelicans get a quality center with an expiring contract, free cap space for this off season, and get a first round draft pick in a loaded class.

It would have to be something like the proposal above. On his own Gortat doesn't really interest me. Part of a larger deal? Sure.
