The boy's first buck

Took my Nephew this afternoon. It was as humid as I have seen it all year, but with school you gotta go when you can get them to the farm.
I had called my Old Man down from the Mountain last night as I figured that this was going to be a pretty high percentage deal, and he did not want to miss his Grandson's first buck.
We saw 7 bucks, one of which was the largest buck I have ever seen on this property, but he was about 300 yards out and I wasn't about to take the rifle away from the boy. We watched an 8 point at 50 yards drinking out of a water hole about 10 minutes later, and then a tall 9 rubbing a pine sapling. Both wandered back into the thicket to my consternation as we could have taken either, but I wanted a chip shot.
A few minutes after 7:00, I see another buck at the water hole as I am reaching for my water bottle to pour over my head. He slowly comes in to about 30 yards as the boy holds the crosshairs on him. After what seemed like 10 minutes, he finally showed us the shoulder that I have taught the boy to concentrate on. He says "I have him". And he did. Good times...

What county are you in? I hunted Williamsburg years ago.

Richland County. Our farm is 28 miles South of Columbia. Thanks for all the props y'all...

Funny how a little sweat and facemask can make your hair look just like some homo boy band's $300 wet dream...
