Tim Scott, nation's only black senator, shunned by MLK anniversary organizers

If there is anyone who believes this anniversary celebration isn't a political sham, he or she needs to be laughed at. It's a democratic circle-jerk full of revisionist history.

Tim Scott not invited to memorial

Will the people that are speaking at this event acknowledge the political party of the "figure whose symbolic shadow they stand in"?

Can't have someone who might address alternative ways to fix the black communities problems, besides blaming whitey. Too many black people watching..could cause some to leave the Dem plantation. We can't have that now can we

Is this news? How many other members of the CBC were invited to speak?

Watched some of the festivities in the office break room.

High comedy. I felt disrespectful of MLK, because the speakers were worthy of derision.

Will go down as worse than Paul Wellstones funeral....

Makes me sad.

Was there ONE conservative speaker, either black or white?

The only conservative at the rally was made of marble and limestone, and weighed a few tons.

Was he sitting down? If so, I think I saw him.......needs to do something with that beard.

Bush and Boehner were both invited. Bush is recovering from surgery, Boehner declined.

Who cares, the highest ranking elected white guy in the USA was given an honored speaking slot.

Besides John Lewis(for obvious historic reasons) , who was the only surviving speaker from 50 years ago, I think the Black Causcus Chair, Marcia fudge was the only one.

Both Bush Presidents , Boehner & Eric Cantor as of now have been confirmed as invites who DECLINED.

Don't be surprised if other Republicans were also invited ,but declined as well.

Nothing here to see folks .

Why don't you just admit that the grievance and race industry doesn't want Scott there because it shatters the narrative?

As it should, but was this form of racist shite not to be expected to happen? Every conservative voice of the black community is considered as if a traitor to their race for speaking independently of the flood waters of group think.

Why would a conservative attend? Just so he can get booed?

What makes you think he wasn't welcome? Just because he wasn't asked to speak?

Honestly, repubs cant complain until they organize their own MLK event with black and white conservative speakers who sell their party and solutions to blacks.
