Let me just start this off by saying I don't think LSU will lose. Given LSU's history in opening games against big opponents, I don't believe it's even really that close.

However, how horrible would a loss be? I'd imagine there would be a pretty huge meltdown. We wait all year for the season opener, and to lose it would suck horribly.

However, when you take a step back and look at it, there would still be a whole lot to play for.

1) The SEC Title isn't in jeopardy with a L to TCU in any way, shape, or form.
2) 1 loss in week 1 wouldn't take us out of the title hunt. If we go undefeated in the SEC I'd assume we jump into the top 2 at the end of the year.

However, if LSU couldn't beat TCU then I don't think we could run the table in the SEC after that. It would put a big black cloud over the players and fans for the remainder of the season.

My prediction though... LSU 38 TCU- 17

A loss would mean its time to get ready for baseball season.

Although TCU has a good team, the Tigers need to win this one!!! Other wise it will be hard to make a run with our schedule!

So, you start a thread asking a question about a hypothetical.

You tout the highly unlikely nature of said hypothetical.

Then you say even if this hypothetical comes to pass, it won't be that big of a deal at all.

Useless thread.

It would be like UGA losing to Boise except a little worse. Boise was much better than this bunch we are playing this weekend.

A Non S.E.C. Loss would not hurt as much as an S.E.C. loss. And with the entire season ahead of them . Along with the knowledge that you are beatable would carry a lot. LSU 35 TCU 17. So the second part of your subject is correct sir.

It would mean a bunch of things for me...

My 4 year-old will be devastated... but I can just claim that a TCU fan yelled at him and shoved ice cream in his face thereby justifying my butthurt.

My SO will laugh every time I call her Tiger Bait in anticipation of the Sam Houston matchup next year.

I will have wasted $800 and will drink and gamble and waste even more money the rest of the weekend trying to make the pain go away.

I will have to hear ENDLESS crap at work about it... no matter how the rest of the season pans out.

I won't be able to watch ESPN or listen to sports radio for a long time.

Yup... those things would suck... Thank God there is no way in hell that a team of blood-load ejaculating frogs is gonna beat us!!!

Wrong thread... Wrong board... Wrong topic...

We are busy in hear prematurely feeling sorry for ourselves in anticipation of LSU losing to TCU. We are prematurely feeling sorry for ourselves on that topic over on the Recruiting Board.
