Man of Steel is a movie that will split this board for a long time. Are there any other movies that do the same? Nolan Trilogy?
BTW, it's absolutely shameful IM3 got that much money when it was such a shitty movie and that is the consensus on this board.

..mainly because of the material and names attached to it. But it still wasn't a very good movie (and it doesn't have to be to make tons of money). I was really disappointed in it and thought it was borderline bad at times, but I'm still interested in it and will easily give the next one(s) a chance since I like the genre so much (and the names attached to it), as well as the idea of them melding Batman and Superman.

No, it wasn't...there was barely any Iron Man in Iron Man 3. It was mostly Tony Stark in the middle of Bumfrick, Nowhere being a smartass to a kid and calling him a pussy.
It just goes to show how popular of a character RDJ's Stark was/is IMO.

That movie sucked. SPOILERS:
He cried multiple times. He wept about how scared he was of aliens. He crash lands in the snow with a broken suit and instead of getting on a plane or having someone send a helicopter or having another suit fly to him or having someone bring him another suit he just piddles around with some kid in his garage. Then he cries some more. Then he drives around for a while because he doesnt have his suit. Then we see the villain breathe fire for no reason and never do that again. Then the mandarin isnt even Chinese. Then pepper becomes a super hero. And a way cooler one than him. And he cries about tat too. Then he has like a billion suits fly into battle with him and they dont even fight that well. Then he has this awesome huge rhino suit and all it does is hold up a crate. Dafuq was that all about. It was the like the hugest coolest Iron man suit ever and all he had it do was hold up a crate on a ship. Then He has surgery to have the shrapnel removed.... why the frick didnt he do that before? Then he throws the arc reactor (an amazing technological invention that can power like a city for years) into the ocean for no reason. And i think takes Pepper's powers away from her too.

IM3 spoilers..
I think the new shite that gave the people their weird healing/fire powers is what allowed the surgery to happen. I remember bitching about that after I saw it, but I think I missed where Tony had said that with that new thing, he could now have the surgery safely, or some shite like that. The rest of your gripes are legit though.

IM3 wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't have teased me so much with the Mandarin. I followed a lot of the production so I knew that he was going to out of the suit a lot and that it would very much be his reaction to New York and all, but that script change by Shane Black took a 9 and made it a 7 for me.
