2013/14 EPL Survivor Contest Week 3 (Aug 31-Sept 1)

Well, I'm not quite sure why we even bothered having a mulligan round this time...45/56 people who started the contest with a mulligan lost it this week. 5 posters joined the contest without a mulligan in week 2 and 3 people without mulligans were eliminated. We only have 9 matches to choose from this week as Chelsea and Villa played last Wed. Also, I addressed the mulligans in last week's thread, but I'll repost it here in case anyone missed it. Apparently, there was some confusion about how the mulligan works and what teams can be used in association with it.

The purpose of the mulligan is to allow people who chose incorrectly a second chance to progress through the competition. We have enough people participating now that, including mulligans, we are able to fit two contests into a full season. Although, now that almost nobody has a mulligan anymore, I have a feeling we'll be done the first part well before Christmas. The mulligan is currently earned during week one of the competition. If at any point in the season you pick incorrectly and have a mulligan available to you, I do not eliminate you from the contest. I remove your mulligan and note the team you chose that week so that they cannot be used again. When a team is chosen incorrectly and a subsequent mulligan is used, the poster remains in the contest, but that team will no longer be available to that poster for future selection. You progress to the next week as if you chose correctly. The team you pick during the first week that awards you the mulligan is not removed from the pool of available teams to you throughout the contest whether you chose correctly or incorrectly. If you were awarded a mulligan and have chosen incorrectly this week, you will not be eliminated; your mulligan will be used and you will continue next week as normal. The next time you chose incorrectly, you will be eliminated. Sorry for any confusion, I hope this clears things up.

The rules are as follows:
- Select a team from the matches listed each week.
- Correctly selecting home wins, away wins, or away draws provide immunity to the next round...home losses, away losses and home draws result in elimination.
- Each team may only be used once during the competition with the exception of the mulligan round. Teams used in the mulligan round are still available to be used once later in the contest.
-Failure to pick a winner by the deadline each week will result in either the loss of a mulligan or elimination from the contest.
