Jesse Jackson: ‘Tea Party Is Resurrection of the Confederacy’

I'm not really sure what he means by referencing Ft. Sumter since Ft. Sumter was a union fort, but the rest is clear.

quote:

Jesse Jackson has no doubt that on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Republican opposition to President Obama’s policies is motivated by racial animus reminiscent of the Civil War-era South. “The tea party is the resurrection of the Confederacy, it’s the Fort Sumter tea party,” Jackson told Politico’s Glenn Thrush.

Jackson, who Thrush describes as the man “who more than anyone occupies the no man’s land between his mentor King and Obama,” is “absolutely” convinced that attempts to thwart the president’s agenda are motivated by his race.

The question “To what degree is the partisan gridlock that is frustrating his attempts to govern racially driven?” is one that President Obama himself is “begging to ask,” according to Pulitzer Prize–winning author Taylor Branch. The president can’t broach the topic, Branch said, because “the slightest mention of race could alienate the millions of white Americans who voted for him.”

If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around, and crushed Jessie Jackson, would anyone care?

Whenever the CBC disagrees with a white president I guess that is motivated by race as well.

Jesse Jackson is full of shite as a Christmas turkey. All he and the entire black leadership including Obama foster is racial divide through race baiting to keep themselves in the spotlight. The entire bunch should go down in factual history as among the most divisive leaders in history and have easily set back healthy social development in the U.S. by several decades. You need only look at the plight of the black family/community to recognize that these so called leaders have actually been detriment to the socio-economic well being of the U.S.

Being slammed by Jackson is good for the Tea Party. It makes you think that maybe Jackson is on the Tea Party payroll. It reminds me of the time he got caught saying that he wanted to cut Obama's nuts off on an open-mic, because it enhanced Obama's credibility among on-the-fence White voters.

zero, if it were a white socialist hack instead of a half white one, there still would be gridlock. The system is working exactly how it was intended to, to prevent one man to change everything to what he believes is fit. Thank god for our founders, and the system they set up

What makes him absolutely convinced? The tea party has the audacity to criticize The Great One?

Unless he has spoken to several tea party members and they specifically told him Obama's race is the sole reason for their opposition, which I highly doubt, then Jackson doesn't know shite and he's simply being his typical race baiting self, trying to make race as big of an issue as possible.

Keep dreaming. There is nothing worse in America that being labeled a racist, except perhaps being labeled a pedophile. I'm not even sure that's worse.

Jackson knows what he's doing here. Besides using this rhetoric to raise $$$ for his own bank account, he is neutralizing his/the left's political enemies by labeling them as racists.

And, btw, without, to my knowledge, a single shred of evidence.

The truth is irrelevant to him.

He needs his base to hate the TEA party and associate it with evil. He needs to somehow tie small government with racism.

He's a democrat first, and black man second.

So American citizens elect, and the re-elect, an African-American president .. and we're still a racist society?

Give me a break "reverend."

But being called a racist by Jackson and Al Sharpton is like being called anti-Semitic by Alan Dershowitz or Jackie Mason. They do it so often that it's like the boy who cried wolf and everybody just yawns.

Again he blatantly calls them and the Confederacy racists without any concern for blowback.

Jesse knows more than i gave him credit for. Both are for smaller federal government, less overreaching, personal responsibility, and states' rights.

or maybe he's just a race baiting idiot. Saw him on tv yesterday and that guy is a real life cartoon character. Does anybody really take him seriously?

1. Jackson is an idiot 99% of the time.

2.
quote:

“To what degree is the partisan gridlock that is frustrating his attempts to govern racially driven?”
I think there is some truth here whether people or politicians are willing to admit it to themselves (much less anyone else). My parents have an irational hatred of Obama and my dad is relatively racist (and has no problem telling you he is) and I think his and a lot of people's hatred of Obama is race related, even if subconsciously.

3.
quote:

President Obama himself is “begging to ask,”
I am sure he is. And I can't blame him as I think it is a real factor.

What is JJ's stance on immigration reform? Black unemployment is higher than white unemployment, but giving 11+million illegals amnesty is good for black unemployment how?
