my mom did this in the late 70s/early 80s. never seen anyone else do it.

dad, RIP.. ...didn't drink beer. he was a whiskey man. canadian. the cheaper the better.

It was terrible. I wondered how people could like beer after tasting that.

Now he's much more of a wine drinker. Still cheap stuff. He'll try some different beers though. I bring stuff to him to try, but I know he hates IPAs and stouts. He'll go for Shiner Bock more than anything else these days.

Yeungling mostly, but he dabbles in craft beer and enjoys it now. I remember stealing sam adams from him in hs.

A lot of posters here probably wont believe it, but there was a time when if you drank Michelob, you were likely considered to be a 'beer snob' (maven?).
