I have never really paid much attention to the financial side of the game, but all the news about cutting down to 75 has me thinking. If low draft choices that do not have guaranteed contracts or undrafted free agents get cut during preseason, do they get paid their full contract salary or is it prorated? What about guys that are placed on IR?

They get paid a per diem for training camp and preseason (the 49ers pay $1500 a week). Contracts aren't paid until the first regular game. I don't know about IR.

That is excluding things like roster bonuses etc,

Most players are guaranteed their full salary if they are put on IR but many UDFAs and fringe players get split contracts which halves their salary if they are placed on injured reserve.

This is as of the old CBA and I am not as current on some of the changes made, but I think this stayed.
