I wouldn't say great, but he was above average and mean. LT was the weak spot for a while.

Yep. Sam Baker had one pretty good, uninjured season and got PAID. Hopefully that was the exception and not the rule from here forward

Hicks seems to be having some trouble as his rating is pretty negative.

I get it, but I saw the Raiders TRIPLE TEAM him at one point. Dude is a space eater.

I tried calling in to set the record straight but the lines were all busy. It's cute how much the "know" about the Saints

The way they talked was like after everything that's happened, THIS is what's going to hurt us on defense the most .

Everyone here, including people in the media, have just assumed that the Saints were doing everything they could to throw Will Smith a bone because he was a "good soldier". He certainly wasn't going to be an integral key piece. I expected him to be benched by week 3.

I thought they set him up for failure by switching him to olb. He never had a chance to excel there. I don't wanna hear about the "Jack" linebacker. The man could not get consistent pass rush from the outside anymore.

My thoughts are that they knew they had 4 pretty good DEs and he wouldn't have made the roster at that position. So they move him and give him a chance.

We actually had 6 pretty good guys. Then 1 got hurt(Coleman) and the other sort of disappeared(Johnson).

Anyone who follows the team knows better. Thats ok. let them think we're "worse". That will be their biggest mistake going in to week 1.

Haralson is a great pickup. Will provide quality depth. Guy basically couldn't get back in the 49ers lineup because they have so much talent and depth on defense. With the Saints he may become a starter.

First, and foremost, I'm sorry Will Smith's season (maybe career) had to end with an injury; I don't wish that on any Saints player...no matter how much I dislike them.

I'm totally convinced that Smith was going to get playing time at OLB and that scared the Hell out of me. The dink passes to his side would have eaten us alive. Now that he's on IR and his replacement is on-board,I think we'll see a little better production from the OLB spot.

As many have pointed out, Haralson isn't likely to make the Pro Bowl, but he's a definite upgrade over what we had.

Here's wishing Smith a speedy recovery and good luck with your future endeavors.

How sweet would it be if Smith along with Vilma started the Who Dat chant for the Falcons game? The place would go nuts

Sure, but do we really need a delay of game penalty to start the season off?

I'm assuming they'll both be on IR at this point. At the least the PUP list for Vilma

I'm pretty sure, IR or not, they'd need to be off the field before kickoff. You would be pushing it.

Vilma(and Morgan) cannot be PUPed. You have to start and finish training camp on preseason PUP to be eligible for regular season PUP.

Meanwhile, Butler is eligible for PUP so we don't have to make a decision on him for a while.
