I still can't believe we got a 4th for Ivory.
Not to knock him, but wow.

Definite upgrade over smith

Agreed, and obviously the injury to Smith spurred this on, but I'm not so sure we don't still make this trade even with the Smith's injury.

Exactly. But did Ivory ever have a 30-page thread discussing his value?

He's good. Above average pass rusher, knows the 3-4 defense really well. He has had injury problems, but has potential. He is just sitting behind some greats.

I'll be pulling for him every week expect when we play.

Good job Loomis and coaching staff. 6th or 7th pic and its worth it this year.
Watched him a few games and he's not a tomato can. An actual OLB vet who can help the younger guys from experience.
Who ever started that trade thread?

I've been reading the thread on reddit about the trade. 49er fans really like the guy. He was playing behind an all-pro, and a second team all-pro. This is an upgrade over Smith.

Definitely feeling like a defensive purge. Ellis gone, smith gone, vilma likely done, and MAYBE harper!?

Thanks for the info. Honestly we need a guy like that. I expect a couple of players to step up this year and be playmakers (mainly Jordan, Galette and Vacarro), but we need some steady players that know what they're doing.

This is good news. Not a spectacular player, but someone who's not going to screw up.

He will probably look like a stud in our defense Who was the last good OLB on our roster?

Whoever this guy that Fletch retweeted thinks we got a steal

@DeSimone80: If the #Saints acquired Parys Haralson for a late draft pick, that's a steal. He is an upgrade over Will Smith in Rob Ryan's 3-4.

As I was looking through the seasons to check out the stats on Haralson (the last page), I was struck by just how high Butler's stats were in so few snaps.

That injury is still so damaging.

Bulter was a good pass rusher, but I heard he wasn't that great against the run. It would still be nice to have him, but it's good to have guys like Haralson on 1st and 2nd down so guys like Butler can tee off on 3rd down.

Whoa, I would much rather have him on our team. Dude is still pretty good.

quote:

If true (just thinking of the McCoy rumours) I hope we get a decent pick for him, he's a good player ad good pass rusher.

quote:

I don't like this idea. He's a VERY good depth player that we NEED. We don't want to be in a crap situation like last year. He's only on a one-year deal. We can draft another replacement or use Cam Johnson next year.

quote:

I would rather keep him. I would love to see a nice rotation to keep Aldon fresh and ready to rush the passer with energy. Sort of like 2011 except playing Aldon more and having Parys come in just to spell him.

quote:

this doesn't sound good hes had a very good preseason it would suck to have to let him go watching him play in preseason i was already thinking he looks like hes gong to have a good season.

quote:

I'm 50/50 on this. Dude has been playing outta his mind this preseason. Maybe not as good this week, but you have to admit he looked like a starter those first two weeks.
