Kerry: Chemical Weapons 'Undeniable'

quote:

Secretary of State John Kerry says the use of chemical weapons in Syria is "undeniable" and that the U.S. is considering how to respond:

quote:

What we saw in Syria last week should shock the conscience of the world," said Kerry. "It defies any code of morality. Let me be clear: The indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the killing of women and children and innocent bystanders by chemical weapons is a moral obscenity. By any standard, it is inexcusable. And despite the excuses and equivocations that some have manufactured, it is undeniable."

Sure, someone used chemical weapons. The question is which side used them?

Are going to bomb both sides just in case?

I was hoping it would he undeniable that Assad was the one who used the weapons. It seems like we really don't know for sure.

Kerry beating that war drum.
We're going to have to come up with a new term for these war mongering Dems. The favorite among the libs on here seems to be neocons. So, I'll go with..

I wonder the source of those weapons.

Syria shares a border with a country, led by someone who was once accused of having them.

Could it be that said former leader of said country, not wanting to be caught with "evidence", made plans with a fellow tyrant to hold those weapons (for "safekeeping"), but now that said former leader is no longer able has need of said items, the fellow tyrant has decided to use them himself?

I was completely against intervention in Syria as much as the next guy but the use of chemical weapons can not be tolerated.

Kerry used similar rhetoric relative to Iraq and then of course later joined in the Dem condemnation of Bush. Just another hypocritical liberal progressive.

==============================================
“I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force– if necessary– to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.” Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 - See more at: LINK

Why isn't it a moral obscenity when Christians are killed in Egypt or other areas of the world?

We should stay out of Syria. If the Un wants to do something let them and we can support it but we don't need to go ocer there and play police.

Obama should react the same way Reagan did when Saddam used chemical weapons - do nothing. As a matter of fact, Reagan behaved more like Putin in that he protected Saddam from U.N. sanctions.

Even if it's proven that the "rebels" were responsible for the chemical attack?

There was a UN Chemical weapons Investigation team at a hotel 4.5 miles away at the time of the gassing of civilians in a neighborhood where the rebels were in the process of being driven out of an area they had previously taken control of. They were being beaten back badly for 36-48 straight hours at the time the gas was released.

With the UN inspection team right there in Damascus and the area in question being lost by the rebels badly, provide one palatable reason why the Assad government would choose that time and place to gas civilians in large numbers, with the eyes of the world more upon Damascus than at any time in the two-year old civil war

Then think about how much the "rebels" would have to gain by the very same action.

Sucker play all the way ...
