Talk about milking it for the cameras. I've never seen anyone, ever, crumble to the ground in agony like that. Give me a break.
That very well could happen.

It happened to me.

I had terrible back trouble after a hard foul during a basketball game when I was about 14.

It was so bad that my obliques felt constantly weak.

I can remember trying to play a game of baseball in the street with friends, and when I swung, the pain was so intense and shot down to my legs that it made my legs buckle and give out, and I fell like Tiger did.

I don't think you realize, but it hurt like you wouldn't believe, and you involuntarily fall to your knees, and need a few seconds to let the sharp shooting pain subside back into the more dull pain that is constant.

But did you look to see where the ball went, while you were in all that much pain?

It happens. I continued to play that baseball game.

Most of the time it hurts like hell when you swing, but you can still suck it up and do it.

But sometimes I guess it pinches a nerve or something and makes you collapse.

I'm only 23 with a good back and the other day I hit a tee shot and fell to my knees because it tweaked my back weird. It only hurt for a second and then I got up and walked away.

Just like everyone thought he was milking it at the US Open in 08.
I've seen people limp with a hurt knee before. I've seen people grip their back after a swing. I've never seen someone fall to the ground in pain after a swing. Do you think he hurt his back worse on that swing than anyone has ever hurt their back on the PGA Tour (at least, as long I've been watching)?

Not faked. Embellished. Exaggerated.

Most players would have withdrawn by that time.

How many times do you think they would show an average tour player falling to the ground after a tee shot? Unless it's a big name, and/or he's in contention, it'd probably get shown once or twice. No GIF would be posted to the MSB, for sure.

If you have ever tweaked your back, then you would know.

The pain shoots and literally makes your legs give out from under you.

Did Tiger milk it? I don't know. But falling to your knees isn't an odd reaction if you tweak your back. It happens involuntarily.

That makes you and Tiger the only people I've heard of falling to the ground after a swing. Elite company.

I've never - not once - seen it happen to a player on the PGA Tour, and I've been watching golf for 20 years. Are you telling me Tiger's the only pro golfer in 20 years to tweak his back on TV?

I explained earlier in this thread that it happened to me while playing baseball.

I had back trouble after a hard foul while playing basketball.

I was playing baseball with my back trouble, and I tweaked it even worse during a swing, and I fell to the ground just like Tiger did.

That is how I can imagine how Tiger felt if he tweaked it, and those of you saying it doesn't happen just do not know what you are talking about.

If someone's back hurt so bad that they fell to the ground after a swing, they should withdraw.

I've seen lots of baseball players go to ground after a swing.

Good thing golf doesn't matter until April if he's hurt.
