Cy Young:

1. Scherzer (19-1; 2.73 ERA; 196 SO, 0.91 WHIP)
2. Sanchez (11-7; 2.45 ERA; 152; 1.13 WHIP)

MVP:
1. Cabrera (0.356, 126 RBI, 41 HR; 0.447 OBP)
2. Scherzer (19-1; 2.73 ERA; 196 SO, 0.91 WHIP)

I think Scherzer and Cabrera should be locks for Cy Young and MVP. I don't they get either runner up spot but might be deserving. Sanchez has the best ERA in the league. Scherzer' season is similar to Verlander's when he won the MVP (24-5; 2.40;250; 0.92), but I am sure Davis and others finish well ahead of him .

Chris Davis should finish 2nd in the MVP race

King Felix and Yu have a slightly worse ERA than Sanchez, but much more IP and Ks

Scherzer has the best record as of now all time in MLB and the best WHIP in the league Sanchez has the best ERA in the league and you think someone else is deserving of the Cy Young? Who has better numbers than both of the guys?

I don't think Scherzer finishes second in MVP but his numbers are comparable to Verlanders when he WON it. Saying he doesn't deserve Cy Young at this point is ludicrous.

No point in arguing with you if you're going to cite a P's W/L record in your defense....

Do you want to cite ERA? Sanchez. (with Scherzer not far behind)

WHIP? Scherzer.

SO? Scherzer.

If a pitcher on a last-place team wants to win a Cy Young, let him do his best Steve Carlton imitation (27-10 on a team that won 59 games). I ain't voting a barely-over-.500 pitcher a Cy Young, no matter WHAT his WHIP, ERA+ or any other 'advanced metric'.

Sanchez has a lower ERA than Felix by. 04. In 40 less innings. Tell me more about how that puts him above Felix.

No arguing that

Present your advanced metrics then. Quit talking about "not arguing" in every single thread and produce the stats to back up your opinion or GTFO.

Thanks

Scherzer has a better WAR than both. His FIP is right on par with Felix's and much better than Yu's. He has a higher K/9 than Felix and lower BB/9 and HR/9 than Yu.

Don't get carried away. Scherzer still deserves to win, but citing W/L is silly.
