What's toughest? A good knuckleball? Slider? Curve?

IMHO, the hardest to hit is a change-up. You can see the curve ball's spin coming towards the plate.

In my [high school] experience, a curveball. Even when I knew it was coming, I'd have a hard time making contact with it.

I crushed knucleballs, though.

Depends on who's throwing it and how well they set it up with other pitches.

Will always be The Changeup.

When setup and thrown properly it is by far the hardest pitch to hit at any level.

The first time I saw a Triple-A quality change up I was astounded that anyone could ever hit that. Coming off about a 92-93 mph fastball it was game over.

Yeah, that's what makes it so hard to hit. You never know it's coming.

With a curveball, you see the spin way before it crosses the plate.

I now know some of you have never played an inning of organized ball.

Get bmac in here and I will bet he says a changeup or a really good splitfinger.

it's not possible to answer this question in a general way. a good pitcher, when really on, can embarass the shite out of you with every damn pitch in his arsenal. a fast ball would be the best answer to your question but a lot of factors come in play. of course some hitters can't hit certain pitches so their answer would be easy; a good example would of been andrew jones of the braves couldn't hit slider out of the strike zone because he just couldn't lay off of it. a good pitch at the right time, regardless of the pitch, is the hardest to hit.
