Al Sharpton explains why "they" are wearing saggy pants

I'm not sure who he's talking about here; who the bad guys are. Whites? Conservatives?

Anyway, here's the answer to the question you have been asking.

quote:

“Dreams are for those who won’t accept reality. So they dream about what is not there, but will make it happen,” Sharpton said. “We must give us our young people dreams again. You build jails, closed schools and break their dream and you wonder why they are wearing saggy pants.”

They are the clueless, unapologetic architects of their own colossal failure.

re: Al Sharpton explains why "they" are wearing saggy pants

Has anyone at this MLK march said anything yet about personal responsibility? About hard work? About marriage, fidelity and taking care of your own family? About being a role model for young black males? Those message are sorely needed and they won't be heard if they come from whites. They need to be spoken by black leaders, especially the president. Obama has a golden opportunity over the next few years to really make a difference in the future of America. Is he up to the challenge?

And all this time I thought it was because they couldn't find a belt that matched their house slippers.

Let us apply some logic. Let us suppose that an ethnic group...let's say North Koreans, who eat dogs, liked to wear dog shite on their head as a sign of their culture.

Would Al's quote go to "We must give us our young people dreams again. You build jails, closed schools and break their dream and you wonder why they are wearing dog shite on their heads."

No because they really don't believe in any of that. Everything wrong in the black community is blamed on white people.

What do they need a leader for? Is there a white leader? An Asian leader? Why can't the black individuals just say to them selves: "I think I'll stay on the good side of the law, make something of myself and provide a good life to my family."? It's within the realm of possibility of anyone in the country, regardless of race or background. No one is promising anyone that they'll get rich, drive Bentleys on 20's, own hundreds of dollars worth of gold chains, and sip on high dollar liquor. That promise isn't there for any race. But the opportunity to set your self up for success and act as a catalyst for your children to reach further heights is always there if you are willing to work for it.

Some certainly do, but the problem is there are major cultural impediments within that community. Failure and lack of responsibility/parenting begets more of the same, and the need is very real for leaders to emerge within that group or things won't change on a large scale. There will certainly be exceptions along the way.

So they glorify prison culture because jails are built? I mean saggy pants and untied shoes are glorification of prison practices so if we stop building jails they will pull up their pants, tie their shoes and have a dream again? And why not close schools if they aren’t going to attend or attempt to learn while their?

If they sag their pants because they have no dreams, and sagging is glorification of prison culture, does that mean they dream about going to jail? Or maybe even dream about getting raped in jail. Those sound like awful dreams.

I didn't say there was. I was replying to everyone saying that a "black leader" needed to step up. Slap your self in the face for being a ignorant dumbass who can't read and comprehend a simple post. Then cut your nuts off to make sure you can't reproduce more idiots.
