BATON ROUGE – Perhaps the real reason LSU coach Les Miles hired Cam Cameron to be his latest offensive coordinator got by everyone.

Maybe it’s not because Miles and Cameron are old friends from their days as Michigan assistant coaches in the 1980s. Maybe it’s not Cameron’s decade of experience in the NFL as an offensive coordinator and quarterback guru to the stars – Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers and Joe Flacco.

Maybe it was really because Cameron will help Miles develop what he has always wanted – a true dual threat quarterback.

gg, GG, TL, DR, yada, yada, yada, I still found this refreshing article. yes, I did multiple searches and waited till nitetime!

“He can do exactly what Zach can do, which gives us great continuity,” Cameron said. Mettenberger, however, cannot run well.

I am fine with a true dual threat QB. JJ was not really a threat to run and pass consistently.

A dual threat QB that has a pro style arm/accuracy and pocket presence has a HUGE advantage over your more common dual threat QB.

Most can run really well and are taught to pass. Some are passers and have good athletic ability so are put in and offense where it can be utilized.

Someone like Jennings is very dangerous. He has tremendous awareness, accuracy and very good arm strength/ mechanics. The rub is...is he is athletic as frick and can run a 4.5 with RB type shiftiness and cutting ability.

So, he will beat your arse in the traditional sense, be it handoff, toss, pass, shotgun, play-action etc. the difference is, when nothing is open, he will out run just about everyone on a Dline when the pocket collapses. Also shifty and aware enough to make defenders miss (zone blitz, corner blitz etc)

He is going to be a bad mother fricker. Oh, tripple option will be lethal with someone like him. So pumped am I.

And all this is better then a really good pro style QB with average wheels (obviously).

Playing with him is TRULY like having 12 on offense.

read it...mostly gg stirring the pot and regurgitating the JJ/JL thing. who the frick cares? Mett is #1 and we seemingly have two capable backups with different attributes. IMO, we're in better shape at QB than we have been for a long time. it can't start soon enough.

get better.

Manziel is not as good of a passer. He benefited from an absurd oline last year.

His success will not be matched to last year. Actually, I don't think it'll be close.
