Black Bear but it was not close to me and not a threat. This was in North Louisiana about 20 years ago.

Bobcat when I was a teenager in the woods by my house. All I had was a hatchet. We both went our separate ways.

I don't know if this would be considered "in the wild" but In Jr high my brother and I got chased by a bull while dove hunting in Mississippi. Pretty scary at the time as we just made it over the barbed wire fence before getting our asses handed to us.

Almost got T-boned in a tree stand one morning by a flying turkey. Saw my life flash before my eyes.

I have had numerous intentional run ins with Alligators as a kid. We used to catch them Steve Irwin style.

A 12’ bull shark after my “buddy” shot a lemonfish. Water was murky and I was f’n scared – when I surfaced I did my best Jesus Christ imitation all but walked on water and flew into that boat. GD thing was as big around as a 55gal drum. Only saving grace is I didnt have to be faster than the shark just faster than my “buddy” who had a thrashing bleeding lemonfish on a spear ;)

Black bear in the smokies. Was literally 8 feet below one if those stone-walled overlooks. I discovered him and then a crowd gathered. He just looked up at us and the some idiot dropped his keys right next to him.

Not a wild animal, but my cousin raises rodeo bulls on a bunch of land and I was riding around on a SxS in the back of the property and one had gotten loose and he charged me. Most scared I've ever been.

Plenty of gators while yakking but keep my distance.

In HS my friend had an old bull we would provoke to chase us, but the scariest was a bear in Rocky Mountain national. It was eating berries several hundred yards away. Disappeared while I was out taking pics of it then it stood up on it's hind legs about 100 yards from me. He may have been okay but it was too close for me.

Coon in a box stand before daylight. Coon ended up dead but only after he drew blood from me in 3 different places. Has anyone ever fired a .270 inside a stand? A scoped bolt action is not the preferred weapon for close quarter battle.
