We should have a duck calling contest for those that can toot one and have the computer skills to post a video clip/ youtube video of them doing so.
Give everyone, say, 3 days to post their duck calling video.. I would update the OP and then everyone could vote.

Why? We already have a duck killing contest.

It's like Phil says could a duck win a duck calling contest?

Well, this wont be a hi-balling championship contest. This will be voted on by fellow hunters as who sounds most like a MALLARD HEN

Phil says that cuz he can't win one and still has to sell duck calls. My take on it is you want to be able to imitate any real duck sounds you hear and a contest shows off your repertuar. Now I get that you don't blow a 30 count cadence into an MVP in the duck hole but its still showing off the way you are able to manipulate a duck call.

Who would want to win a yankee duck calling contest? Everybody and there mother knows those contests sound like shite.

If you blow a RNT, you lose. Just my opinion

In. But we need some ground rules because we aren't going to run this like the pro circuit. I say we go straight meat calling. Maybe you're given 15 seconds for a hail/comeback portion, 10 seconds for feeding chuckle, etc. I don't want the OB passing out trying to carry on an 11 minute hail call. This isn't the end of November Rain.

Competion callers are very great callers. There routines are loud and fast and they show extreme control of the call. No the routine is not going to bring mallards in close we all know that. Watch a few meat calling completions and you will hear more of the live duck calling. But don't think these guys don't know how to call a mallard or more importantly when to call just because Phil Robertson says a duck couldn't win a contest

Sounds cool, Ill just listen and try to learn a little.

Im can get it in the heat of the moment, but stumble when I really try and think about it.

I mainly use the single quack, a few whiney pecks, and a short comeback call. After countless hours I am still defeated by the feeding chuckle.

I will post my video tomorrow as my calls are in my blind bag, and my video camera is on a tripod in my bedroom.
