What .22 Rifle to Buy?

Little Cove 2 needs his own .22 for squirrels & plinking and such. I am leaning Ruger 10/22 because you can pretty much trick it out any way you want. Any other suggestions? I have a T-Bolt for myself, but he wants his own now. He'll be 11 in Sep.

My daughter shoots a 10/22 my mother gave my father on their first Christmas as a married couple, for what that's worth.

10/22 is never a bad choice.
TBolts and CZ 452 are fine guns too. If you want a lever gun, check out Henry.

I'd suggest you check out Marlin .22 caliber rifles. They have autos, lever, and bolt action. Solid gun that will last him until he can pass it down.

A henry would be cool gun that he could hand down to his kid also. However the 10/22 is what it is.
Op depends on if you want to shoot it as well

Henry Golden Boy or 10/22 are really the only answers here

Don't overlook the CZ 452 American. I have several including some high end rifles and the CZ is my favorite.

Well, dad may need to make sure it's "sighted in right" from time to time, but it will be his rig.
I thought about Henry, but I am really leaning towards a semi-auto since I already have a bolt action. He will be shooting deer with my old Marlin turty-turty this year, so we've got lever action covered too.

For coolness, Colt M4 with a red dot makes for a nice plinker. For busting the hell out of tree rats, a 10/22 with a decent scope.

Go old school and hunt down a nylon.

I have a Marlin 60 that I've had for about 24 years. It's a good gun. But, if I were buying myself a .22, I'd get a nice bolt gun.

10/22's are over rated. Good little gun but give me a break with all this "easy to trick out" bs

MArlin model 60?
They are plain reliable and accurate. Can't go wrong with it.

S&W M&P 15/22. He'll be a cool kid out there!
