Building a website for small business

I'm in the early stages are starting a bookkeeping business to supplement my real job. I'm looking for options to build and host a website. Of course I want to keep my costs as low as possible, but not to the extent that I get a crappy product. Anyone have any suggestions or words of advice?

Will the website offer any interaction for your clients, or will it just be basically an online business card?
If you really want to keep the costs down, you could learn the bare necessities and get hosting that has good Wordpress support, buy a template (or find a good free one) and get away with less than $100/yr in hosting fees.
If you want to be somewhat professional and unique, you can probably find someone to design a nice looking site for ~$500 (on the low end), and then of course the $100/yr ongoing for hosting.
Since this isn't a full-time thing, I would recommend against getting talked into letting one company do all of your design, hosting, and "maintenance". They tend to charge excessive monthly fees for doing next to nothing for you.

BlueHost.com. About $80/year and they give you a free website (Weebly). Unlimited email and storage. A++ Tech Support.

I would assume with a bookkeeping business you wouldn't need anything too elaborate so if you have any technical skill, you can do what Korkstand suggested and open an account with a company that hosts Wordpress sites. They make it really easy to setup the site then you can go out to the web and search WordPress themes and you'll find thousands. The pay themes are usually much nicer than the free ones. Once you install the theme template, then you can just navigate around the site and change the wording or layout to how you want it to show. There are tons of youtube videos on how to do this and will save you a ton over paying someone else do it for you.

I'm sure Blue Host works fine. I think there are 4 or 5 different hosting companies specialize in WordPress sites and I did a couple searches for reviews and alot of the experts said HostGator so i went with them but i believe they all pretty much work the same with the 1 click installation and all.

We used intuit site builder and were pleased.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll research all of these options and see what makes the most sense.

Add Wix to that list. I've made a few sites with them and love them. Great templates.
