Places to stay if one would go to the Texas A&M game next year?

With this announcement of LSU playing @ A&M on Thanksgiving next year it got me thinking of possibly wanting to go to this game next year with my family and extended family. Was wondering if there is any resort/hotel that would be ideal in making this trip worth while. I think this would be fun for the whole family!

stay in the north end of houston. The Woodlands, Conroe etc. I think its only like an hour to College Station from there.

Damn, talk about planning ahead.

I mean this with all sincerity and no sarcasm, College Station sucks in regards to hotels...and there's really not that much in close proximity. Sure, they're decent enough to stay in for a weekend, but not if you're looking for it to "make the trip worth while".
If you go, then go for the game and run down to the Blue Bell factory.

gonna make the pitch to some family members. see if anyone bites. Doesnt really matter, just think it would be cool to do a holiday/family LSU game on the road.

Look into renting a house for the weekend would be my suggestion. If you're going to have the whole family (I'm assuming this means 10+, unless you mean immediate family only) then a house rental would probably be great.

I'm staying at my cousins!

Last year the team stayed at some resort outside of college station and bussed over. I think it was in Conroe area maybe. Anybody know the name of that.
That might be worthwhile, otherwise college station is just run of the mill holiday inn express type hotels. I would stay in north Houston, woodlands, Conroe area myself if you wanted to have a big family thing.

Actually looks promising for a family get together on Thanksgiving. They have golf a course, and I'm sure other resort like amenities. Would be a fun weekend with a short drive over to college station.

I went last season and had to stay in Houston. College Station really has no place to stay. The drive from Houston to College Station sucks arse.

You could stay at The Woodlands Resort or one of the hotels in Market Street or on the Waterway in The Woodlands.

I live in College Station. There are two more hotels opening soon and I think 2-3 more will be open for next year but still not enough. I stayed at La Torretta last week at Lake Conroe and loved it since they remodeled it.
