Gotcha. I could probably pick some up on one of my bi-weekly milk/bread/egg runs and just cook them once a week.

It doesn't help that I'm a little too spontaneous, I don't plan anything. One day I'll grow up.
everybody's got their own shite to deal with. just try to work on getting a better eating system down a little at a time. that's what i've had to do over the years.

Nothing wrong with that. Go grab some takeout or go to dinner. Dumping a can of veggies in a bowl and heating it up isn't "cooking" anyways.
Truth. I enjoy cooking, this stuff isn't fun. But I'm no longer hungry.

Its not always a choice between cooking a good meal or going out for a good meal. Sometimes you just grab some shite in your pantry and throw it in a pan because you would rather not cook.

I get what you're saying, I just don't keep that kind of stuff in my pantry. Don't even have a pantry really. Just one cabinet with a few dry necessities. Always have milk, eggs, bacon, bread, cheese and butter on hand and you're set if you're in a pinch.

Yep, canned stuff and cheap quick food is definitely an outlet for a lazy evening. Not to be done too much. But this occasional activity has little effect on your health if you keep an otherwise active and healthy lifestyle.

EVOO in the frying pan. Saute a little fine chopped onion then after a few minutes add a bunch of finely chopped garlic and fry a couple minutes. Add drained French cut green beans and cook for a few minutes then add a little Vigo Italian bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Stir and cook for a minute or so.

With the canned beans you have, start with bacon & or bacon grease, throw in chopped trinity to saute in the fat, then throw in the drained beans and a chicken bouillon cube and a little water. Simmer a bit till done.
Next time you run out of canned beans, but still need something quick. Here are some 10 minute green beans.
First, buy a bag of this:
And a package of this (use half of the package for the green beans, diced):
Poke holes in the bag of green beans and microwave for three minutes on high.
While the beans are steaming, dice up the pancetta and then put it in a skillet and start rendering some fat:
Cut open the green beans and pour them in, even the bit of liquid that will come out of the bag. Stir them around until they get a little more wilted and get a little color. Turn off the heat and let them finish cooking for another couple minutes while you start plating everything.

Drain them and put in zip lock bag with some onion powder, lea & perrins, and brown sugar. Shake to coat. Grab 4 or 5 and roll in a half slice of bacon. Place on baking pan and in the oven at 350 until bacon crisps.

Simple, but just add some rotel tomato to it while simmering in some chicken stock...

A little bacon fat and/or ham hock, onion, Tony's/hot sauce, cook all of that in chicken broth for as long as possible. Not bad for canned beans

This is one of my favorites
6-8 strips of bacon
1 big onion
2 can French style green beans
Sugar
Vinegar
Dice you bacon and fry down until crispy. In a mixing bowl, combine 8 tablespoons of the bacon grease with 8 tablespoons of sugar and 8 tablespoons of white vinegars. Whisk until combined. In a casserole dish, empty the two can of the French green beans, along with the onion (cut in half, then slice thin) and the crumbled up bacon. Pour the sauce over the top and mix all together. Bake at 350 for probably 16-20 minutes.
Eta. Has anyone mentioned green bean bundles. My mom makes those, especially around the holidays and they're the shite

I understand the time thing. Lots of nights I don't have time to cook or go out to eat. I have the money now to do what I want, but I know budgeting as a student can be tough. Buying fresh is great when you know your schedule and that you'll eat it before it goes South. That doesn't always fit, though. Do what you can when you can.
I've never had canned potatoes, but fresh do keep a good long time in proper conditions. Keep that in mind for future green bean meals.
ETA: frozen peas and beans like limas are generally very good.
And, when you do have time to cook, make some things you can freeze for quick meals. If you need ideas, ask. A crock pot might be a worthy investment. They're pretty cheap.
