PPR and 6pts for all TD's. Is QB the way to go with this scoring format?

Still RB. Megatron is going to be a little higher in the first round, of a PPR (what I've seen so far), so you may have that going for you. What pick are you?

Brees/Rodgers are hard to pass up, just depends who's there.

As someone who would generally take Rodgers in the 1st round, there's no way I'm going QB.

I'm going Brees with my 1st round pick.

Studied the past league drafts and done the math based on projected points. In my league, taking the 1st or 2nd QB is the best bet.

And I like the "safety" of taking a QB. Much less of a chance of missing games than a RB.

Taking a stud qb will never lose a league for you barring freak injury. You just have to be on your game from there on out.

Brees and Rodgers will both be gone by the time I pick, same format.

QBs will score the most points but they should all be similar (i.e. the top 11 QBs scored the top 11 spots in our league last year). But there is also only 12 QBs starting as opposed to (at least) 24 RBs.

The difference between the points of the 1st and 12th QB is probably less the the points difference between the 1st and 24th RB.

I'm the first pick in a snake draft. Take AP and then get the 10th best QB?

All of my leagues are 6pts for all TDs and there is no way im going QB. RB/RB is the way to go.

Won't lose a league for you, but it is tough to win the league if the rest of the owners are good. You really have to score a second RB in the 3rd to have that chance. Get you 3 WR's the rest of the way and hope a late round pick or two turns into a steal.

The difference between the top QB and the 12th last year was like 80pts. The difference between the top RB and the 24th, which would theoretically be starters, was like 120 pts. Its much tougher to win with RB1, RB 30 and QB3 than with RB1, RB 14 and QB8.

RB every day of the week. And another in the 2nd round except for a few WR situations.

The fact that QB gets 6pt for td doesn't change a whole lot. ALL qbs get 6 pts per td so it just makes ALL the qbs score higher.

It actually does change it quite a bit. It makes a 50% difference in going from 4 pts. per TD to 6. The more points you give the QB's, the more valuable the top players become.

It's actually a lot more accurate to calculate the mean rather than the difference between the top and bottom starters at each position. With two RB's, you theoretically won't end up with the 24th RB at the position, you'll end up with the 12th RB. This is in effect the last RB1. If you want to use your comparison, then figure the difference in points between the #1 and #12 RB. I'd go QB instead of RB with 6 pts. per TD.

I read this Matthew Berry post at ESPN a week or two ago and it made a lot of sense given what I experienced in our league the last two years (most teams who spent their 1st round pick on a QB ended up not making the playoffs). It might give you r a new perspective on your question.

Matthew Berry - Draft Day Manifesto 2013

quote:

. . . . In fact, 10 different quarterbacks averaged 17 or so fantasy points per game last year. Two more averaged around 16 and No. 13, Andy Dalton, averaged 14.9. Seven others averaged 14 points a game. The quarterback position is the deepest I've ever seen it for fantasy purposes. . . .

It's a long but interesting read.

I've been wrestling with this myself. The top three teams from last year in my league had the top three scoring QBs but on the other hand good RBs are at a premium.

I have the 12th pick (out of 12) in my draft on Sunday. Under no circumstances will I use any of my top 2 picks on a QB.
