those are a solid choice. like Gris said though don't get too crazy with the seasoning. if it was just a filet I'd say doctor them up quite nice, but with those crabs you want something more delicate I think. salt, pepper and maybe a little herb-infused olive oil and you're good to go.

I forgot to mention that I had steamed artichokes and corn on the cob with the king crab legs Sat night. When I'm eating a part of the dish with my hands, prefer that most of it be eaten the same way. The artichokes were not only delicious but fun. Same butter sauce can be used, so that worked well, also. If she likes artichokes, you might want to consider those. I steamed the artichokes and threw the crab legs in with them as they were finishing up. The steam from the water didn't affect the flavor of the crabs at all.

And, don't forget to have the warmed towel and lemon water finger bowl available for clean up after eating the crabs. Always a lovely touch and she'll appreciate the trouble you went through to have that even though its no trouble at all.

If you're not familiar with it, google "filet oscar" which is a recipe that utilizes your three ingredients of filet, crab and asparagus, adding a Bearnaise sauce. It's a sure panty dropper.

This sounds like the buffet at the casino. Just take her there.

Been there done that...corn, artichoke and crab is one of my favorite meals. Absolutely delicious with ghee btw.

Mine too and it can be romantic to share an artichoke.

Dipping the leaves in ghee and slurping the meat off while the butter runs down to your chin as your date does the same thing is not romantic? Maybe sensual is a better word, but there's something about artichokes.

I agree with this, but I don't make slurping noises or have butter dripping down my chin when I eat them. I'd have never thought of this since I've never seen it happen. My people know how to eat them, I guess. You sound like a messy artichoke eater who needs some instruction!
