Targeting a third pick: Rb for flex or elite Wr?
Posted by Mahootney on 8/19/13 at 10:43 pm00
Most leagues have great value for Wr2, Wr flex, and bench depth.
After rb/rb, my 3rd pick in mock drafts usually ends up coming down to this question.
Is it better to get another stud rb before the cliff for your flex and going with 4th/5th rd wrs... Or take the last of the top wrs and have a make-shift flex?
*BPA is relative. Both positions are usually around the same value.

When it is close I almost always go RB.
Having solid RB's is necessary with bye weeks and injuries. They are also the most difficult to acquire on waivers and are the easiest to trade down the line if you need a solid WR.

If the RB value is there, go RB. If you can get a guy like Dez, Julio, AJ, Marshall, maybe even Colston, consider it.
Get the points where you can. I grabbed Vincent Jackson in the 4th this year

Graham fell to the end of the 3rd, so that created a whole different dynamic.
Andre Johnson/ Roddy White
Graham
Ball/ Lacy/ Bell/ Miller
Ryan/ Newton
I went Graham, Johnson.
The thought was fill in WR2/flex & Qb in 5/6.
What would you have done?

Always go with the elite talent. Take the wr although I haven't been seeing elite wrs in Rd 3 much. People overvalue the shite out of running backs.
